Tipping guidelines

Can you guys all help out here? What is the proper tip for valet parking? I know you have to tip both the "parker" and the "getter", but how much? Also, we have 2 rooms booked. How much do we tip housekeeping per day? There are 5 of us all together.

This is what we are comfortable with:

With prompt, smiling service, we usually tip a valet parker $3. This drops to $2 if there are hang-ups that are within the retriever's control. Occasionally, we tip as high as $5 for extraordinary service. I have lived both in Chicago and Nevada and used valet extensively, and I have never tipped at drop off unless I needed something special - like having my car kept near as I would be right back.

We normally leave housekeeping $3 per day. At WDW, I like to bring down golden dollars and make a "hidden Mickey" out of them. It is appropriate to tip individually for each room. Again, we occasionally tip more (up to $5) for extra special service (towel animals, extra bath supplies & towels and super clean room, etc.).
