Since they add 18% service charge and then a $3.00 delivery charge do you leave a tip? If so how much do you tip? Thanks for your help.

That's a great question! For my part, since I figure I've already contributed a hefty service charge, I will normally give the delivery person a buck or two, but I admit I'm never really sure what the protocol is. I feel kind of cheap giving only a dollar or two, hopefully the person that brings the tray to the room gets to share in the service and delivery charge money. If not, and we are then expected to add another 10-20% on top of all of the other charges, I may rethink any future room service orders.

I do not tip for room service at the Poly. Their menu lists a fee and they call it gratuity. Gratuity is a tip.

I travel for work and order room service 2 to 3 times a week!!! The tip is already included at 99% of the hotels across the country. There will always be a line listed for even more tip. don't feel obligated to tip more! I will occasionally add an additional $1 or $2 if they are especially nice or if I ask for something additional to be brought up that was forgotten on my tray (eg., ketchup for fries, forgotten soup spoon, etc). If all they do is drop off the tray and aren't friendly then they don't get the additional $2. Most room service is over priced to begin with then adding the delivery charge and "service" charge makes it highway robbery so don't feel guilty about not tipping again. think of room service the way you would at a restaurant that adds in gratuity automatically for parties of 6 or more. do you feel obligated to tip more in that situation?

Do not tip. :D

Unless you want to tip twice, of course. Considering the Disney prices, and the already-inflated price of room service...well, how generous (or wealthy) are you feeling??? :p

Nope no tip here as it is already included on the bill. I feel no guilt either.

Actually when I tried to tip last time, the CM pointed out to me that it was already included. Since the CM was nice enough to point it out, I tipped anyway. Honesty should be rewarded!

I always add a few bucks if thier friendly as well. I normally tip at least 20% and they only add in 18% I think. The last few times I have ordered room service at BCV, they have come in and put a table cloth on our dining room table and put all the plates on the table and took the lids off. I think they earned the extra few bucks.

Last time we ordered a pizza in the room, my DH signed for it. After the CM left, I noticed my DH had added a tip - he didn't know there was already a service fee added! The guy got like $6.00 for delivering a pizza! I think the added service fee would have been more than adequate.
