Hope this in the right place.

If I was to book the Illuminations cruise for 2 people, how much should we tip the driver?

I know that the boat normally holds 12 people, but this is for my wife and I only as this is our last Disney trip by ourselves (1st baby is on the way ! ) and we want to enjoy the cruise alone.

While I want to tip and not short the driver, it won't be the same tip as if 12 people on the boat and I really don't feel as I should be expected to tip as 12 people would.

Just fyi, if we get the "food package" or whatever and the cruise will be about $190.00. Do I say for the tip $190 x 15%?

I tipped my Wishes Cruise captain $20 but it didn't cost $190, it was $150. It must have been ok though because she hugged me after I tipped her LOL

I've always tipped 20%. Even if it's just the 2 of us. The boat costs the same for 10 - that's why I tip based on the actual cost. We've never done the food thing thou.

I think we gave $20.00.

the driver was so great he even let my 7 year old ds drive the boat

We usually tip about $40 but we always have the same Capain and he is the best and always does great extra stuff for us....

but I think a 15-20% minimum tip is correct...when we had 10 people last trip it was 3 adults and 7 kids....we still tipped our normal amount...so IMHO it doesnt' matter the number of people you should tip a percentage...the Captains time is the same no matter the number of people on the boat.

PS I'd skip the food package and just bring drinks or snacks of your own....pick up a bottle of wine from the little grocery on the boardwalk and a pastry from the bakery and you definately will spend less then the $40 additional dollars that the food stuff costs...

$190x15%=28.50...I would round that up to $30.00 and you should be fine....Have a wonderful time and congrats on the baby!!!!! :flower:

I have a wishes cruise booked in June and was told that the price included tip. Are you all tipping extra. I don't want to get a strange look if I don't.
Thanks.

Congrats on the baby!!

Take him/her on their 1st birthday. The expressions are "priceless". :rotfl:
