So, I'm wondering if I should tip or not (and if so how much) for my hair service for my wedding. I'm having an in-room service for hair only (as a friend of mine that is attending the wedding does bridal make-up and will do that for me). We're doing a MK session before the ceremony, so I have to get my hair done at 4am. Because of this, they are charging an additional $50 pre-dawn fee. Their normal service is $75 and now with this fee the total service will be $125. Is it rude of me to consider that $50 part of their tip?

I am a hairdresser and just recently did a destination wedding and we ending up doing far more then hair. We helped get the father get dressed, the mother get dressed. Helped find the brides underwear.
Plus there is always a unsecured brides maide that kinda wants to make it about her and I always make sure to keep the focus on the bride. I know for me 4am would be a lot to ask, you don't have to tip till the end of service that will give you a chance to see if they went above and beyond. Ask someone else to keep an eye out to see how things go you will be to busy to pay attention. Congratulations I wish I was there, I'd do you hair at WDW!!!

I think it's going to be rather easy for my service. I have pictures of exactly what I want. I already did a trial at home so I know that my hair will work with the pictures. And, it's only going to be me and my friend (who's doing my make-up) in the room. The bridesmaids are in a different resort and they have their own service set up for another time. So, the good news is that there won't be a lot of people around causing drama or wanting additional attention/services. :)

The company that I went through told me that tip was extra. Tip on hair/makeup is usually around 20%. if the person is an individual who owns their company and not an employee of a larger company, then you wouldn't need to tip.

I would tip 20% on the actual hair fee, then add tge early fee. The early charge is not a tip. You can tip or not, it's ultimately up to you, but that isn't part of the tip. :thumbsup2

Does the person you hired own the company? If not, IMHO, I would definitely plan to tip. At home I tip arond 20% for hair service. I did a little bit more than that for the gal from Beaute Speciale that came to our room because I was really, really happy with how everything came out.

I just had my hair/makeup trial today and I was charged a $25 travel fee, I tipped 20% on top of the travel fee. I felt like she did a wonderful job and really worked with me, so I say feel it out and if you really love their service then definitely tip them.

I agree, tip is always a decision that is based on the services rendered... depends on what is done and what is expected, etc...
