Tipping Concierge????

We will be staying at the Wilderness Concierge and would like to know if tipping is the normal thing to do or is it considered part of your package?

We only have 6 days to our arrival!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm getting excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My DH and I are traveling to AKL and CR in November where we will be staying concierge. I was planning on tipping the concierge staff and asked Don at AKL what an average amount was. He quickly informed me that concierge staff is not allowed to take tips but that they can accept chocolate.

I work at a Culinary School so I've asked one of our graduates to make me some chocolates which I will give to concierge with a note indicating that a donation has been made to the Florida hurricane relief fund in the name of the AKL Concierge or the CR Concierge. We will give the relief fund the amount we would have given to the concierge. This seems like a good solution to us. What do you think?

So the great debate is on - LOL! To tip with cash or gifts. Some have reported being able to give cash tips, but they always tell guest monetary tips are not accepted. We've done gifts, disney dollars and gift cards. I was able to do each without a hitch.

We were thinking about bringing something from Oregon for the concierge CMs......but how many CMs are we talking about? It will be at the CR.
