Tipping concierge

This is a first for us. Do you tip servers in the lounge? Or the concierge him/herself? Here now and wondering what's "proper"!?! Thanks. PS food is yummy and staff is awesome! Accommodating for gluten free as well

I've tipped Disney concierges. They can not simply accept a tip. They have to refuse, and then suggest making it a donation on your behalf. After this they can accept it.

Though I don't know if they keep it or if it goes into a pool for the cast to do something special like a pizza party lunch. This happens in non tip accepting posistions.

I'm not sure if Disney classifies this as a tipped position. If it isn't, they will refuse the tip. If you continue to try, they will relent after 3 refusals. It is then turned over to their lead, and it is processed as a donation. A year or so ago, the donation was made to CHOC. Not sure if that is where it currently goes now or if they have a new charity they are giving to.

Disney actually uses mystery shoppers to monitor this.

Better than a cash tip that becomes a donation, write a glowing compliment for the cast members who made it so good for you.

I would ask a manager at the front desk if non-tipped employees are allowed to accept gifts if you're really inclined to offer something personal. I know grocery delivery guys for Safeway/Vons are not allowed to take a tip but can accpet a bottle of water, a soda, a cookie...

Yes! We do this. It goes a long, I hear, in the Disney corporation to get these letters. We write whenever we get service that is above and beyond!
