Who all do you tip at the resorts and how much? It will just be my husband and myself. And what would the average tip be for good service at a sit down restaurant? Also how much do you tip for a buffet.

Thanks lene

Bell Hop Service: $1 per bag
Sit Down Restaurants: 15% to 20% tip (depending on service)
Buffets: 10%

The above is not only what I tip, but it's also a basic guideline unless you just feel like tipping more.

I think the above are good guidelines...just wanted to add housekeeping, $1 per person, per night.

For good service at a sit down restaurant, I usually tip about 20%. I might tip more than 10% at a buffet too because a good server will come and check on you, make sure you have filled glasses, etc. And there might be some buffets (like Akershus in Norway), where you need to order your hot items from the server.

Do the CMs at the MK Barbershop accept tips? I plan on offering one, but not if they are not permitted to accept one - just trying to avoid an awkward moment.

Thanks :teeth:

Yes, they do accept tips.

BTW, the price of an adult haircut has gone to $17.00 as of July 1 (which, according to Michael is the first increase in a long time). They also have increased the price for a children's hircut, I think it is now $15.00.

The valets are a tip position, and they do not get any part of the $6.00 daily valet parking fees.

I will normally tip either $1.00 or $2.00 (to an extent depending on the weather) both when dropping off the car as well as picking it up.

Also I usually use an ECV. If I have it with me, and I will be using it at that Resort (for some reason), I will tip $5.00 both ways if the valet assists in disassembly/loading or unloading/assembly of the ECV. If I need but do not get assistance from the valet, not onlyh will there be no tip but also a discussion with a supervisor.

Please advise if most of you tip the individual who loads the luggage onto the cart from the trunk. He was different from the person who delivered my luggage. I did give him $3.00. Another $5.00 went to the one who brought up my luggage. All told $8.00!!Not alot, but it adds up!!!

We also had two Bell Hop men handling our luggage. I took the luggage out of the van myself. Then one guy came over and put the luggage onto the cart and wheeled it to a holding area as our room wasn't ready. I didn't tip him.

A few hours later, a different man delivered our luggage to our room and I did tip him.

I'm not sure why, but we always seem to get two people handling our luggage. I just prefer to tip the person who brings it to our room.
