tipping at Palo

Hmm... I'd say look on the receipt before you add more. I was about to say they don't automatically add it, like the drink servers do by the pool, but we've been getting Palo for free for so long that we just figure if our bill would be $100, we should tip 20%, or $20.

An 18% gratuity is included in the menu price; any additional amount is at the Guest’s discretion.

The above is copied from the DCL website for my upcoming Palo reservation.

I ordered a la carte and 18% was added to the total cost. I did not order any alcohol. I gave cash directly to my server. He seemed to really appreciate it. Perhaps tips (the 18%) are shared?

We tip based on what that Palo meal would cost at a restaurant. We live in LA, a Palo type Brunch would cost at least $100 per person. And since Palo is a free perk for us, we have no problem tipping $20 to $30 per guest.

I always tip based on what the meal would cost in the restaurant versus the subsidized cost. I thought that was pretty standard. I haven't noticed the tip included, but if it is, I recommend adding beyond the 18%. We usually tip around $40 to $50/person.
