Tipping at Palo Brunch

Hi , we are planning on doing palo brunch on our october cruise, i know that it's $10 pp cover charge but that most people tip extra but i've only seen what people have tipped for dinner at palos, so what would be appropriate for good service for 2 people at brunch ? Also can you request a window seat and are there tables for 2 ?

and High Tea, again i know its now $5 but what do you tip for this and is the experience worth having ?

I tipped $20.00 for the two of us at our Brunch.
But tipping is something that varies from one person to another.
At a nice restaurant on land for good service I usually tip around
20%.
Our service was top notch and felt the 20 was appropriate

Thanks Sabor , i figured it would be around that for lunch but had read some posts where people had given $100 tips on top of service charge for dinner and that's just not an option for a tip for a brunch for us , Thanks again.

$10 is for the tip....but based on the awesome service a lot of people tip more than that.

Yes, there are tables for 2. My husband and I had brunch there and had a table for 2 by the window. It was not crowded when we walked in (our ressies were for 11am) and they put us right by the window. We tipped $20.00 as well, I think that's good for brunch. Obviously we would've tipped more if we had dinner there.

Thanks everyone, i understand that the $10 is a service charge but that it gets split between all of the staff so people tip their waitstaff directly for good / great service,

anyone had high tea ???

webray, I also would like to know what the $10pp charge is for if it's not for a tip.

And just so eveyone is aware that in most restraunts when a server is tipped they then take that tip and split it between the other kitchen areas...ie chef, bus persons, and hostess and even the dishwashers. That is done simpley because if it wasn't for the rest of the staff members doing their best the server couldn't do his/her best. So as tracie2201 mentioned the $10 "service charge" is split between all staff...I beleive if they are tipped additional that to would/should be split.

That's just my few cents worth of information.

I just got off the phone today with a DCL rep. And we discussed this very thing. The $10/pp charge IS the tip. That is what it is specifically intended for. However, she said you can leave more at the table that night if you think it is deserved. If your bill would have been $100 had you paid for it, then the $20 fee is a 20% tip. If you want to leave more, you can.

We left 20.00 on top of the service charge. It was WELL worth it!

I was also told that the $10.00 pp was the tip. I don't think I am being cheap to think that $10.00 pp is plenty for the tip. You get your own food except for your option of a specialty dish. I think the people in Palo's do an excellent job, but I also don't feel I need to leave an additional tip on top of the already $20.00 tip that you are expected to pay for a couple. If you want to leave more by all means do.

The only thing we got for ourselves was the cheeses and bread. The Pizza, Main course and dessert and drinks were all brought by our waiter.

WE were shown the food such as king crab, shrimp, the bread area, the desserts, Then we were told to help ourselves. Our waitress brought us champagne, juice, and a hot item I ordered. I didn't mind paying the $20.00, I just didn't think I should have left any additional tip. I have read where people have left $50.00 additional tip for 2 people. Thats great if you feel inclined to do so, I however still think a $20.00 tip for 2 people is a good tip.

Thanks Teri, i'm inclined to agree with you , but then i'm from the UK and tipping here isn't quite the same, however i'll see how it is on the day and if i feel it's deserved then i'll tip extra.
