Hi. We are off to the Castle Club at the DL Hotel on 5th November. We are really looking forward to it!

Just wondering, what do we do with regards to tipping the staff in Castle Club lounge?

What about waiters in general, what is the standard tipping percentage?

Thanks for any advice,
Mandy :sunny:

I tend to tip about 10% (I think it's something like 12% is the expected rate, but i prefer the maths of working out 10% :) ).

Thats in restaurants mind you, so not sure about the Castle Club thing really, i suppose just give what you think is appropriate - i was in Cuba in the summer, and gave the bellboy a 5 peso tip (about £3 ish) for taking our bags to our room in the sweltering heat. I later found out that is 2 weeks wages for Cubans, so ammended further tips during the stay

Although tipping in Europe is less of a thing than State side I would always tip btween 10 - 15%.

We made envelopes to leave for housekeeping each day :)

We left every day 5 Euro`s for housekeeping on the table.
After the second day the head of housekeeping came to our room to ask id the money was really mend for the ladies.
It was not common to leave a tip she said.
We ourselves see that kind of things different.

Hi, we tipped waiting staff 10% and give the bell service and maid service 2 euros for each person in our party.
I don't think they expect a tip however I think it nice to do so.

We tipped about 10% in the restaurants. DS had made envelopes with clipart and merci mousekeeping on them and put 5 euros in, we left 1 at HI and the first 2 days at Santa Fe we came back to the envelope still there. It had been left on the bed and had been moved. We went to ask at reception and were told that they didn't usually expect tips, also we were asked if it was just loose or in an envelope. DS even wrote more on the envelope. We ended up puting 3 days worth of money in an envelope the last morning and DS wrote PLEASE TAKE on it.I hope they did.

We were in the Disneyland Hotel last week and they all looked shocked when we tipped. It was like they didn't know what to do with it.

We had the same experience. Obviously they are not used to get a tip.
Its a shame ,they provide such a good job.

Its all for our comfort so a little tip is given by hart.
