Who do you tip and/or give a gift to at the holidays (not friends/family)?

I typically give year-end money as a thank you to the guys that take care of my lawn (actual guys, not the boss), my hairdresser, and last couple of years to the mail carrier. This year I MIGHT add the garbage collectors.

I tip/gift people at the time of transaction for services.

So, I gift/tip no one who solely exists in the business sphere in my life at Christmas.

We usually give a cash tip to the mailman and garbage/recycling. Our mailman is great, and the garbage people work hard in all conditions. I don’t interact with them much, but they deserve it. I offer them water/Gatorade if I’m out in the summer also. I’d give our normal bartender an extra tip around Christmas, as well as any server in a restaurant that was a regular server of ours. Although we don’t go to the bar anymore and don’t have a regular restaurant so don’t do those any more. Pretty much anyone that provides a service to me regularly I tip (or extra tip) for Christmas. Not necessary but I think it’s a nice thank you to that person.

If we regularly got packages from ups/amazon/etc and it was the same person I’d leave them a tip. I don’t have kids but if I did I’d probably get the teacher/coach some type of gift card.
