Tipping and check question

We are a party of 6, we have a Sci-Fi reservation. We'll be paying for 3 and my brother their 3. Can we ask for 2 checks even though the reservations is made for 6 and can we seperate the tip?

They'll split the check for you, but I believe you'll still be charged the automatic 18% that parties of 6 or greater are subject to. I don't see any problem with having them put it on two different bills though or using two different methods of payment for it.

Yes you can get 2 separate checks. The automatic 18% gratuity will apply as you're a party of 6. Each check's total will have an 18% gratuity added.
