Tip to make leaving slightly less painful.

On our May trip I bought 3 bags of the Mickey shaped pretzels to have at home. Every time we have our pretzels it reminds us of our great trip. We also purchase non-expiring tickets with more days than we can use on our current trip so that we "know" we will be going back. This year we had just gotten home when the FREE DINING plan came out. We booked our Sept. trip just a week and a half after we got home from our May trip. That really helped with the POST DISNEY BLUES!!

I always buy a few bags of the Mickey chocolate truffles, since I'm a chocoholic and eat a bag on the drive home and in the weeks to follow.

I had a longstanding tradition of going each year with my Dad, it was our personal trip with just the two of us. Our last trip was March 1999, ironically, 3 months before he was killed in a helicopter crash. When we went, I had bought a bag of 3 rock candy sticks (the kind with the Mickey head stick) and I still had them unopened from that trip...so I sealed them in a zip lock and have them to this day, never to be opened but just to remind me of our final trip together.

I just got married in April and we're taking our honeymoon in September for 6 nights at Pop Century. She's never been before and has no idea the magic that awaits. We met in Las Vegas and she's in love with that town, the theming and realness of it all....I know Disney is going to absolutely blow her mind. Thankfully, we got the free dining plan so she can experience everything Disney has to offer, from Character breakfasts to dinner in the castle.

I can't wait to make Disney as much of a personal place for us as it was for me and Dad...

We take a bar of Mickey soap from the room and use it later in the year when we need a "vacation". This week we've been using our Mickey soap and it's fun to get in the shower and see it and smell that vacation again.

Oh yea, thats right...I have a large bag of all the soap we've collected over the years and years of staying at Disney resorts.

We usually go the week before Christmas, and fly home the day before Christmas Eve. So, knowing that we're headed hom for a special occasion really helps.

I know DS8 is going to be very sad leaving Disneyland Paris after our short two days there in September. So, I'm saving the news about this year's December trip until then. It'll be the first time we go for a whole week (we've always just done 4 days before), and if I can hold my tongue until September I'm planning to tell him as we leave DLP.
