Tip Question

[Versailles Cruisers]

Do most of you tip the recommended amount to ALL of the people listed? I have only been on one cruise in 1998 (Not Disney) and it seems like the only time we saw some of the people that we were supposed to tip was on the last night.

Also, what about kids (12 and under)? Should we use the recommended guidelines for kids also? I don't want to be cheap but all of the tips do add up!!!

Yes, you should tip for children too! They will be served in the dining room (and most of the servers do a great job of entertaining them...on our Magic cruise, one of them was even making paper airplanes with them!). And of course the stateroom host will be cleaning up after them in the stateroom!
We have always tipped everyone...out of 22 Disney cruises, I think we maybe skipped the headwaiter once or twice when we never saw him/her, but that is very rare. Usually we end up leaving more.

We always tip at least the recommended amount to the cabin steward (usually more) and the dining room wait staff (definitely more if they made any effort to entertain the kids). The only exception is the head waiter. We only tip him if he had came by the table a few times during the cruise. I hate those who only show up the last night expecting to be tipped. I just look them in the eyes and say "who are you? have we met before?"

We tipped over the recommended amount for all of us, even my 2 year old for every except the cabin steward...we gave him the recommemded amount. The head waiter we gave double to since he entertained my daghter so well and always stopped by to make sure everything was fine, he even went and got my daughter some more of the bread she liked. The waiter and assistant waiter we gave 10.00 each extra over the recommended amount since theywere both terrific!
