tip question - I'm on DDP - friend has DDE

So, if I'm 'paying' for our meals (me and DS) with our DDP (deluxe even... what was I thinking? LOL) and a friend who wants to use DDE for her OOP meal eats with us, are all 3 of us FORCED to do the 18% gratuity that is part of the DDE?
(not arguing if that's the % I'll pay or not... I just hate being forced to pay any specific amount!)

Obviously, we would have separate checks since our meals would be paid for by totally different means.

Your friends tip will be added to her bill. You will pay your tip OOP. You do not have to tip the 18%.

The PP is correct, you will each be billed separately and the DDE tip should only be added to the DDE bill.
