From nomuffintop.com

You see it everywhere. Britney Spears has done it. Christina Aguilera has done it. Pam Anderson has never done it. It has nothing to do with the Seinfeld episode "The Muffin Tops". What is it? Girls sporting the "Muffin Top". A Muffin Top is when the flab spills over your pants or skirt like an overstuffed muffin spills over the paper. Often, it is seen on girls squeezed into low rise pants who shouldn't be or girls in cropped tops who need more coverage. Muffin Toppers are girls who don't understand the low rise/short top look only works on certain girls. They are NOT that girl! Muffin Toppers are making a fashion "statement". A BAD one. Enough! It is time for us to speak up! Lets make a statement of our own! We CAN make a difference! Purchase and proudly display your NoMuffinTop gear and Help stop the insanity!

Phewwwwwwww !!! I feel better now. For a minute there I was afraid I might have been sport'in a bad fashion frock simply by not knowing what it was

But, I guess what always confuses me about discussions like this is - why do you care? If someone was deformed and had 3 noses coming out their face, it might be a little distracting - but does it honestly affect you?

And if THEY themselves are happy and confident, and fell good about their closing choice - whether or not you agree with it - who are you to tell them, or think, otherwise?

A holier than thou attitude? Perhaps - but I just dont get why anyone would care... truly. :confused3

It does affect us ... mostly through our children. Do we want our young children exposed to "coin slots" or "whale tails" whether fat or skinny at WDW? I don't. The parks are geared mostly to kids right? Pleasure Island can be the place to show one's "stuff" if one needs to. Just because they feel confident to wear it, doesn't mean I am confident enough to want my child to see it.

But, I think we are getting away from the OP's original intent.

These threads are not plus sized bashing and I don't think they ever have been. It's about people wearing (and in some cases not or almost not wearing) clothing that they should either have no legal right wearing or make you want to say What were you thinking??:

- The muffin tops
- The 45 yo woman dressing like her 18 yo DD
- The sweet young thangs tottling around MK in 4 inch heels
- The coin slots ( I just loved that one!!! :rotfl: )
- Guys who walk around with their 6 keg abs falling below their shirts (yech!!!)
- For that matter - anyone with any body part 'yearning to break free'

As for the comment, why do we care?? For me, I really don't, it's more of a car wreck mentality. You can't help but look at some of these fashion disasters.

By way of disclaimer, both DW and I are pooh shaped (but getting better - we have both lost 40+ lbs) and she is very self concious about her appearance. We play a game where we see how fast we can find 10 people who looked like they dressed in the wrong closet and most times we don't even make the turnstile.

Look at it this way - it's the What not to Wear version of people watching!!

I'd never heard the phrase until DH stumbled on a SNL skit with Lindsay Lohan

I watched SNL years and years ago but don't watch it now - most of the humor is too juvenile to me - but this skit had me rolling.

I have stumbled onto your thread and it made me think of a great idea! You know how they have the extra magic hours for people staying at the resorts. It is a special time when only Disney Resort people can enter the parks. How about a perfectly dressed hour (pdh)? There could be style guards at the turnstyles and they could check for vpl (Visible Panty Lines), muffin tops, coin slots, shirts that don't match the pants, arms that wobble when wearing sleeveless shirts, unshaven men, women who need to pluck their eyebrows, and children who have icecream on their shirts. During that hour, people could take great pictures of perfect people in the perfect world of Disney. Maybe we could go even farther and make sure everyone is wearing the proper colors so it would be easier to choose the theme of the scrapbook page.

You forgot to mention those of us who wear Crocs! :rotfl2:

If it's going to be a picture perfect hour, men should be in pressed cotton shirts and casual slacks and women should be in dresses (like Father Knows Best era). :rotfl:

OMG!!!! I spit coffee eveywhere. THANKS i really needed the laugh!!!

I didn't read all the posts, but here are my thoughts...

It's not just us "fat folks" who need to check the mirror. Anyone, any size can put on something that would not be flattering. I have a friend, size 6, who melts and pours herself into a size 2....not attractive.

I totally get where op is coming from. I don't think it was said in a "mean, I hate fat people" way. Just frustration due to having almost perfect photos of the kiddos. *side note* I stressed more over the picture taking than anything...never again!

How about you check your backdrop before tacking a picture. My family and I don't wear that kinda of "garb" but because you can't take a good picture do not point fingers at the people around you. Maybe next time you will check? Or you will likely blame the sun for being in the wrong position. :thumbsup2  :thumbsup2

That was my thought exactly!! :thumbsup2 Somehow I didin't manage to get many (if any) of those people in my photos.

Not that I was looking for bad dressed people on my vacation...but I really didn't noice any. I'm guessing that maybe I should take some time from enjoying myself and my family...and start concerning myself with what everyone around me is wearing. :confused3

You really can't judge other by what they're wearing....and IMO it's not something one needs to spend their time worring about in the first place. Rather it be muffin top over flowing or wife beaters running wild...I don't feel it's my place to judge....nor anyone elses. Myself I'm much to busy enjoying the park and my family to even notice.

Hi everyone!

As this is not a trip-planning discussion and has the potential to become very offensive, I am closing this thread.

Thank you.
