This is kind of a disability...but not. Anyway...I'm diabetic and have horrible feet. On our first trip to WDW (my wife and I) I messed up my feet pretty bad with blisters and stuff. I ended up in Celebration Hospital for two nights. No fun.

When we made a return trip earlier this year we used (probably too much) mole skin on my feet...and holy crap it worked.

I know mole skin isn't much of a secret, but it was still something I worried about with my feet...wondering in the months leading up to our trip if it would actually work.

For me, with extra bad feet, the only part I had to look out for was peeling the mole skin off at the end of the night. That stuff sticks pretty well!

I hope this can help somebody!

As the other side to that though- I've kept reading about moleskin so I tried it out last week.
The short version is that it peeled off and took some of my skin with it. I had it both on my feet and my thighs when my thighs got a little irritated from friction... well it pulled the skin on my thigh open so the only thing I could do was cover it with more, which snagged on other pieces causing friction burns as well as tearing off outer layers of skin. I have about fifteen spots on my inner thighs where there were wounds within 4 days. I now know I would have been better off without it in the first place, as I wear a size 14 and am not that large of a person. Walking the parks was not very fun with that going on, especially for those rope drop mornings!
The overall effect on my feet was positive.

If there is some trick to getting it not to peel off your legs though, I clearly missed class that morning.

I use Body Glide it's a stick like a deodorant stick it goes on smooth I use it for chaffing but I know people that use it for blisters they have it at sports stores

My wife was my life saver. She handled my foot care.

Our first night she peeled a little skin off...not much. She tells me it is just a slow process.

I wish I had a better answer for you!

I've been using Body Glide for about 9 years. I buy it at Dick's Sporting Goods. It's terrific. It goes on like stick deodorant so it's easy to put it all over your foot. And it washes off with soap and water. No need to be pulling skin loose and making things worse each time you use moleskin. Prevents chafing also.
My podiatrist was surprised when I told him I used it. He does triathalons. He told me now he recommends it to lots of his diabetic patients.

:) There are dressing adhesive removers that you can purchase from medical supply companies. Detachol and Unisolve (Smith & Nephew) are the two I use most in our wound care clinic when removing dressings. Once you use it you will need to wash the area with soap and water, because it leaves a greasy residue...then the next dressing, moleskin, etc will not stick as well.

Unisolve comes in a box of 50 small pads, like alcohol pads.

Hope this helps someone.

I also love body glide….i used it for my half marathon and it was awesome I know use it for my wow trips no blister no chaffing of the thighs

Baby oil, or any cooking oil works as well as unisolve if you don't have it handy.

Rather than deal with blisters and such, you might be better off finding better fitting shoes. It's not something you should feel like you must accept. If you have diabetes (any kind), usually routine foot care and visits to a podiatrist should be covered under your insurance, as well as getting properly fitted orthotics.

Also, if you can't find body glide, or find it too expensive, or not slick enough, check CVS for something by monistat called "anti-chafing gel" - you'll find it in the feminine section. But it works great on thighs, and oddly enough, is the exact same composition as SmashBox face primer, so you can let it do double duty....

Add me to the body glide bandwagon! My son uses it on his stomach and legs before we go to the beach and he no longer gets skin irritation from the salt water and the friction on his bathing suit.

I use it for when I walk (hope to run again soon) on my inner thighs or other areas in my leg area that rub. Just used it this am on one area (upper inner thigh) that was bugging me last night and I walked today in the heat and had no irritations.
