hi everyone! i'm fourteen and i (in my opinion) have a good tip for waiting in lines. my dad bought me and my siblings a tamagotchi. they are very fun to play with and only cost between $13.00 and $15.00. they are characters that u take of. you can feed them, play games with them, send them to the toilet (lol) even send other tamagotchi players gifts. they are very fun.
i went to D.W. in september and i still have it! :)

In the resort gift shop (AT POP) The have a Small Handheld Game called "Magical Moments Trivia" for under 10.00. It is even in the chape of Mickey ears! It has a sensor that changes the questions upon entering diferent sections of each park.. my crew LOVED it!..and they are still playing it at home! :cool1:

Maybe its just me, but~ When I am on line anywhere, I tend to start a conversation with the people next to me. Especially when they have adorable little kids. Maybe Im being rude, bothering them, but they dont seem to mind :wave2:

wow, can I have some more information on these please?

The tamagotchi is a great idea. It reminded me of another game that would serve the same purpose.

There is a small electronic game called '20 questions' (or at least I think that is the name). the cost is about $15-20 and you can find it at Target or Walmart etc.

The basics of it are you think of a person, place or thing then the little gadget starts asking you questions. You have a few options to choose from for your answers and at the end, it tries to guess what you were thinking of.

This thing is addicting. My 10 yr. old niece has one and I couldn't put it down. I kept trying to trick the darn thing, and it just kept guessing my item!!! (and I was using really bizarre items) This would be a great time-passer too.

20Q's I love that game

I'm still curious about that trivia thing though.

I would also love to know about this trivia game. I would love to get one.

It asks fairly difficult questions about the area of the park you are in..ex, how tall is Cinderellas' castle (189ft)
) 1 more foot and they would have to put a warning light on it for airplanes), How many loops in the Rockin Rollercoaster (3)..You get 4 choices..if u guess right u get 2 points. Pionts doubes with each correct answer..2, 4, 8, 16, 32... you get 4 Hint options where it deletes 1 of the 4 answers. You try to get the high score..it starts over with 1 wrong answer. I was checking out in the POP gift shop when I discovered this little GEM. :love:It cost about 9.00. After you leave WDW you can pick which park and which area to be quizzed on with an options setting. :wave2:
I would think it is available in all the resort gift shops but I never saw it in the park shops.

Disney coolness!!!! Ha ha ha ha. I'm going to have to check that out. Thank you so much for the info.

I am the same way. I love talking to others in line. Most of the time the people that I talk to don't seem to mind. It also helps that I have a very talkative DS8 that will talk to anyone about anything. LOL!!

LOL -- I love teenagers & maybe I'm an old fogey, but I am flabbergasted when I see people (& it's usually, but not always, teens) standing in a stunningly beautiful place like Disney PLAYING VIDEO GAMES.

Look for the hidden Mickeys, notice the brilliance of the details the Imagineers built into the waiting areas, people-watch, meet the people around you -- they might be from anywhere on the planet. Ask where they got that hat or T (if it's a band you like, tell them how you think that group rocks) or snack or whatever. If you notice someone with a French accent, maybe they've been to Disneyland Paris -- ask how they liked it, how it's different, how the French view the Disney culture. Say to a small child in costume, "Excuse me, but are you THE Snow White?! I'm so excited to meet you!!" Be in the moment! Call me Miss Chattypants, but it seems that there are some many things to do on line that don't involve pushing buttons & looking at screen. :chat:

Whatever you do, have a GREAT time!!!

well I agree but I think tomaghachi's [sp?*] and Disney trivia games are a mouse of a different color.

Fair enough, but why do you say so? They're still a distraction from what is around you, from enjoying all of the parks & the people there. Why are they different and from what? I'm not being snarky -- I really want to know! :listen:

On our last trip we had a daily hidden Mickey contest. Prior to leaving I stocked up on inexpensive Disney themed prizes from The Disney Store sales and at www.disneydeals.com. I also purchased Disney stickers at the dollar store and a Hidden Mickey book (for verification of the tougher ones).

Everyone in our group of 11 people aged 10 - 62 played. It was great, for every hidden mickey you found you got a sticker, at the end of the day whoever had the most stickers won a prize. We had a great time, the kids noticed all the Disney details (and loved them I might add), and great conversations were started with those around us as well as some cast members.

Besides keeping everyone occupied it helped focus on the magic of Disney and stoped the "she's touching me" moments.

We've been home about 6 weeks now, and every now and then someone will spot a hidden mickey and shout out hidden mickey, hidden mickey...where's my sticker? lol

We usually visit the arcade once or twice during our stay - our 5yr old gets a kick out of playing air hockey and some of the other stuff in the arcades - we do this as part of the resort touring we do - walking/checking things out/talking and then a quick duck into the arcade

For my son, it is part of the Disney experience since I do not take him into (nor myself) such places outside of our trips

cheers
