On our recent trip to DLR a lot of things went wrong and we had to change our plans A LOT on the go which meant there were many dining reservations that I had made that needed to be cancelled. Unfortunately due to circumstances outside of our control a lot of time these cancellations needed to be made within the 2 hour window when Disney will not allow you to cancel and will in fact charge your credit card as a no show. To get around this I went into the App and modified my booking for a later time. Most of our bookings were for 5:30ish and there were always plenty of less popular times later into the evening, say around 8:30-9:30. By modifying the booking to a later time I then had pushed out the cancellation window. I would then go back into the reservation and cancel it at no penalty. Just thought I would post this in case anyone else has similar issues, saves you cancellation fees.

That's a great tip! I did almost the same thing with a reservation at the GCH a few years ago. I say "almost" because I initially had to put an extra charge on my credit card for the higher rate on the new date, but then I got it all back after I cancelled the revised reservation.

Nice tip, thanks! FWIW, I’ve missed several cancellations the past few years, never saw a charge.
