what is the automatic tip percent for a party of 8 on a buffet meal?(i already know its 18% for table service)

that cant be right. theres no table service, it doesnt make sense.
The CM will clear your dirty plates and refill your drinks....To me that is service that should be rewarded . We will leave the 18% suggested tip.

im not debating what should be left, i dont care what people leave and why.
im asking what will i be billed as a tip.

you will be billed 18% if your party is that large automatically.

(i tend to agree with you that 18% is too high for a buffet. buffets are still considered table service though.)

Its still 18%. The wait-er/ess has to take drink order, bring your drinks, clear your plates, reset tables, bring extra silverware etc...

At table service, the wait-er/ress takes order/answers questions, brings drinks and puts food on your table. Food runner brings out the food from the kitchen, busboy/girl clears all dishes and resets tables.

Wait staff at buffets do just as much, if not more than TS wait staff.

well if thats the way it is, then so be it. im shocked though. i wouldnt have booked buffets, or as many buffets if i knew that.

What kills me is the price of the food..then to add 18% on top of that!

Ex: Princess Storybook Breakfast, served family style (one platter brought to your table)
Fresh Seasonal Fruit
Bacon
Sausage
Scrambled Eggs
Potato Casserole
Biscuits
Cinnamon Rolls

$23 / $13 or during Thanksgiving when Im going....$28 / $18.

$28 for what tastes to me like powdered scrambled eggs, a strip of bacon and a spoonful of potatoes is ridiculous...no omelette, no eggs benedict, no mimosa..nothing!!

Then to pay 18% (which I usually only give 15 unless service is really great, then I give 20) of overpriced eggs....

Oh, what we do for our children!!

!

Well then you won't be happy to hear that the price is not what you posted. As of April, with the photo package included (no choice on that), the prices are:

Breakfast:
$28.99 (10+), $17.99 (3-9)

Lunch:
$30.99 (10+), $20.99 (3-9)

Dinner:
$35.99 (10+), $19.99 (3-9)

Now add $4/adult and $2/child for holiday pricing per your note about Thanksgiving. You will be paying:

$32.99 and $19.99 [edit- allears says kids $14.99, so I'm not sure on that part]. We were just there for breakfast and it was $32.99/adult in June (the famous Disney "holiday" summer season).

Sorry!

yeah, they sure do get you on tips. The waitress does the same amount of work bringing a 10$ meal as does a $30 meal, but she or he gets a bigger tip.

I wish they kept tip included on the DP.
