tiny toilets?

We're heading to WDW next week.....and my dd (28mo) has recently stopped wearing diapers. (Actually, she's been diapered only part time since birth...but that's another story) The only problem is that she only likes to use her little potty, or one that is similarly small.

So, my question is....are there any tiny toilets in WDW? At the baby care centers maybe? The family bathroom at a mall near us has one....

I'd really like to avoid diapering her again....she was pretty much out of diapers *very* young and that ended when we went to WDW for a week and I diapered her!

We use to have a travel potty seat. Is the problem the height or (shall I be crude..) the size of the hole ?

If it's the second this might do the trick. We kept ours in a ziplock and wiped it down with antibactrial wash when we used it. It folds up flat but is hard like a seat.

I really don't know which it is....but I suspect its both! She will occasionally use the big toilet at home....but she can reach the sink and hold on to it to keep herself from falling in.

I've been hesitant to try one of the folding seats because we already have one too many gadgets sitting around that didn't work out!

I would just like to share what happened with my 2 1/2 y/o DS. We just had him potty trained when we went to Disney. All the automatic flush toilets in the parks scared him so much, he refused to go after the 1st day. The toilets always seemed to flush before he was off. I guess he was afraid he was going to get sucked, in no matter how much I tried to assure him he was fine.

We have auto flush toilets almost everywhere we go......maybe *that's* the problem?....but, no, she only likes tiny toilets, no matter how they flush (or not!)

When my DD's (2 of them, I've had practice ) Use a public restroom I always have them hold my arms. The rule is "don't touch anything!" So they don't have to worry about balancing.

Here at home we use a potty seat on our regular toilet. Come to think of it we never used the little potty. Had one once.....I don't think I liked to clean it out.....

Anyway, perhaps you could get one at home now and get her use to going on the big one. With the smaller hole in the seat she might feel a little more secure. Then you just have to deal with the height.

One last thought..... It maybe she'll surprise you and this won't be too much of an isssue. One of my DD's is very accepting of doing things differently in a different place. Say something like "Well, this is the way they use the potty at WDW." In a matter of fact sort of way of course.....

From what I have heard, the Baby Care Centers in each park have little potties (probably like the potty training kind). Maybe someone who has been in them can confirm this?

As for those auto flushes, my 6yo sister doesn't like them because they often flush before she's done. I have to stand next to her with my hand over the sensor or she won't go.

this doesnt help you at wdw but i have a daycare in my home and i have potty trained 8 little girls and one little boy (thats a whole different story ) i bought them a stool too balance their feet on while they were on the big potty, they only needed the stool for a bout a week then they figured the balancing act out, they wouldnt even think of going on those little potties after that, thank goodness cause i hate cleaning those things out, i never thought of using those little potties cause i was always afraid i would be somewhere where i couldnt take one. Gee, I replied...and it didn't show up...

Anyway, I'd be surprised to find little plastic potties because of sanitation issues. Just really want to know if they have small toilets!

I guess I could try the step stool thing....but then I'd have to carry a step stool.

Actually I'm thinking we'll either have to use pull ups at the parks and use the potty in our room, or carry the potty with us (it fits in a backpack....I can just see the security check now....). My dd has been using this potty since birth...and she's totally independent for toileting at home (except for wiping and cleaning the potty....though she tries!). She's just stopped using the pull ups when we go out...I really hate to go back to them!

just ask her if she wants to use Mickeys potty maybe she will surprise you and go on the big pots through out the parks . Good luck!

if your bringing your own stroller stick it in the basket underneath that way your not carting it around in your backpack.

I don't know about inflating one, but we can certainly get folding pottys - they have plastic bag liners so you don't have to worry about cleaning them. (they are made by tommee tippee)

my dd had a folding seat (someone else linked to it) and she was fine with that for a long time, although now she is happy to balance

BUT she is terrified of those auto-flush toilets. I have to stand behind her with my hand over the light so that it doesn't go off - a sticker over the light also works, but we tend to loose the stickers.

If you have a stroller with you, then carrying a potty is not going to be a big hassle - but if you can get by with just the smaller seat, then it will be much easier.

In our family, the "Magic Eye" has become almost an Urban Folk Tale. Before our 2nd DD was born, our 1st had a bad incident at a rest stop with the "Magic Eye". Ever since then she has instilled a sense of fear in our 2nd about the "Magic Eye". The only way I have been able to combat this evil restroom dweller is to stand behind the comode user and put my hand over the eye. If I didn't do this, there would be no way I would get either one of them to use the bathroom when we left the house.

Use stickers to cover the "magic eye" of the automatic toilets!!

I read this advice about those scary automatic flushing toilets a while back right here on these boards!!!

My daughter was terrified of the auto toilets 'cause they were so loud and would flush before she was off that she refused to go. She called the toilets, "Monsters!" The stickers helped calm her fears 'cause she knew the toilet wouldn't flush until the sticker came off AFTER she left the stall.

Make sure that the sticker is big enough to cover and be sure to remove it completely afterwards.

Someone once mentioned carrying a little pad of Post-It notes with you to put over the "magic eye"....

At this point, I would *love* to have to worry about potty training issues. My DS (3 yrs, 2 mo) just isn't interested! <sigh>
