Wednesday 20th December

I woke up at 6am and logged onto the boards. DD woke at half 6 and was coughing a lot and DS woke at 7am. DD and I walked down to the lounge and brought back breakfast. While I was there I asked Lou-Ann about a Dr and she recommended a service called Doctors on Call. She gave me a leaflet and I hung onto it just in case I needed to call them. Lou-Ann also arranged to have a couple of bottles of water left in our fridge for DD to drink in the night.

I took some photos of the lovely view then sat on the balcony drinking my coffee soaking up the sights and sounds of WDW. Every now and then I’d hear the whistle of the steam train or the horn on one of the ferries.

Meanwhile DD went on the Internet and DS watched some TV. As DD wasn’t feeling too good we had decided not to go to a park today so we caught the bus to DTD. We went into Once Upon a Toy and the kids made and bought light sabres and I bought a Stitch watch.

Next up was the massive Disney store and DD bought herself a charm bracelet and 5 charms. I was surprised to get a 10% AP discount here as I though they had stopped that, but we got it on all our purchases at this store.

We then went to the Lego store as DS wanted to get the Star Wars Lego Death Star. He has been saving all his pocket money and Christmas money to get it. This thing is enormous and cost $299 (but that was a fraction of the price it is here) It is for age 16+ but he is Lego mad and so far is having no trouble making it. I’ll post a picture when it’s eventually done. The box was way to big for me to carry so I arranged to have it shipped back to the room and it will arrive in two days. You get a stamp in the Lego store for every $25 you spend so we ended up with enough stamps for a $30 gift card which I am sure we will spend later in the holiday.

We stopped in McD’s and after that caught the bus back to CR at around 12. It was hot and sunny today and DD insisted she wanted to go swimming so we set off for the pool. We stayed there until 2pm and DS got slightly sunburnt. We got showered and changed and caught the Monorail over to MK. We watched the Parade from Main Street and then had an Ice-cream each. We hit the rides and the kids went on the Tea-Cups, Indy Speedway, Pooh, The Carousel and lastly Philharmagic. We stopped for something to eat in Pinocchio’s and DD had a pizza, DS had Chicken strips and I had Figgaro Fries, which were fries with cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomatoes and a sauce. They were tasty and I’d have them again

DD was flagging again so we made our way back to Main Street and out of the park. We caught the Monorail back to CR and as it was the first stop we were there within minutes.. They still had the evening offerings in the concierge lounge so I had a nice glass of white Zinfandel and some cheese while DD had some mini pizza’s and soft drinks for the kids. We were back in the room by 7pm. I text DH and he said it was freezing and that lots of flights had been cancelled due to freezing fog and that hopefully his flight would be OK tomorrow.

We watched some TV and Wishes before having an early night.

Weather Hot and Sunny / shorts and T-shirts.

Great pics! The Contemporary looks really cool! My DS is 8 and is Lego mad too! He just got the Mindstorms for Xmas so hopefully we won't have too many large boxes to bring home!

My DD:thumbsup2 did an A-level photography course and thought your pictures were fab and that you have an eye for getting great shots. I couldn't believe the fantastic views, we are staying in a villa for the first 2 weeks of our holiday but are looking into booking a disney hotel for the last few nights so am going to check out yours because it looked lovely.

Great report so far, looking forward to more. Shame about you and your DD being poorly!

Keep up the good work.

Cath

The lego sounds cool, I will look forward to seeing the photo. I especially loved your picture of the castle, breathtaking - is that from your room? Glad your daughter is feeling a bit better.
