Monday 7th August
Today we are meeting Caron, Barry, Ben and Joshy at DQ at half 11 but before we do I need to get DD some trainers. We went to the LBV factory outlet and I got her two pairs of Sketchers one at $29.99 and the other half price at $14.99. Thats still cheaper than I could get one pair for at home. I also got her some socks in Old Navy and one long sleeve top for DS as it was the only one they had in his size. We saw quite a few people using the TCD check in and felt sorry that they were going home and we still have two more weeks.
We got the shopping finished just before 11 and DD said she was hungry so we did a drive through McDonalds at the Crossroads, DD had chicken strips and her brother had some fries. We got to DTD and as we were still a bit early we had a look at the cinema to see what time our movie started. While we were looking Caron and Barry came along and recognised us. It was nice to meet them all and they were just as Id imagined. Joshy wanted to get a DVD so we went for a look in the Virgin Megga Store. He found one that he liked and we got one each for DS and DD, which should keep them quiet on the drive to and from Vero.
We made our way into DQ and DS and DD went off with DD feeling very important being in charge of the radio again. Ben took Joshy for a look round and Caron, Barry, DH and I went for a glass of water and 2 rice cakes between the 4 of us Oh alright then we went to the Cheesecake factory where this was some of what we had
We spent a while chatting and it was great to meet them hear about their dining experiences and what they thought of the restaurants they had eaten in. They thought the food at Rose and Crown had been very good, up until now I hadnt wanted to eat there but after hearing what they had to say about it we are going to try and include it in our December plans. I was glad to hear that they liked the Contemporary, as it is a favorite of ours as well
DS and DD came back to us after about half and hour and they asked for something to eat. DD picked a cup cake but didnt like it and DS wanted his favorite chocolate cake but DH forgot to tell them not to put cream on it so even though I scraped the cream off he only ate a very small bit of it. We put it in a takeaway box for later but even though he was hungry he wouldnt touch the cake once the cream had been on it so we ended up throwing it away.
It was getting close to the time for our movie and DS wanted to show me the air hockey tables so we said our good-byes. We got a photo taken but unfortunately Ben and Joshy were still lost in the bowels of DQ so they werent in the photo but we will get one with all of us next time
I had a few games of air hockey with DS before it was time to leave for the movie but DS didnt want to go and started shouting, I tried explaining that we could come back right after the movie but he wouldnt have it and stormed off. We managed to get him to leave but he wasnt happy but once we were in the cinema he calmed down and we all enjoyed seeing Barnyard. When we came out DS and DH went back to DQ while DD & I went off to Once Upon a Toy to get the My Little Pony accessories that she wanted. At the back of the store is a My Little Pony stand a bit like the Mr Potato Head one at the front and you can get a box and fill it with as many accessories as you can for $18. I managed to cram a ton of stuff in and DD was delighted with her purchase.
On the way back we did a bit of pin trading and got some nice pins for our collection. We also met some of the locals who werent doing the Disney dining plan.
We made our way back to the boys stopping to watch naughty Stitch spit at a few unsuspecting people.
We called them on the radio once we were outside DQ. They were just finishing a game of air hockey and said they would be out in 5 minutes. DD and I went over to Cirque to collect out tickets for Saturdays show, the boys spotted us and came over while we were there. We left DQ just after 5 and I made a quick stop at Win Dixis to get some pasta for DSs dinner as we were having a Chinese.
We went swimming as soon as we got in and I ordered the Chinese from China 1 (thanks dismum for the recommendation) at around half 6. It came 30 minutes later. Wow - there was a lot to eat and even we didnt manage it all and DD was impressed with the fortune cookies.
The kids went swimming later on and DH & I joined them about an hour later when we were able to move again. We went to bed around 10pm.
