Here is a picture of my daughter and I last month at Disney On Ice, I have put a lot of my information on the thread where there are pics, but i'll share again here!
I am a 28 year old single parent of one 8 year old daughter, we live in upstate NY between the Adirondack Park and 1000 islands/Lake Ontario region. Exercise won't be as much of a problem now that the weather is getting warmer, I enjoy taking long walks and running when i'm in better shape, and it's so good to see results from that. I am doing the Atkins diet, allowing myself 30-40 carbs a day. The main challenge that faces me is at work, when people always want to order out from the local pizza joint. I'll be ok if I can just stick to my antipasto salads. So this is the first part of my journal thread. Today, March 18, 2005, and the scale for me says 206 this morning. That's good because at the beginning of last week it said 212! My first main goal is to be under 200 by the time I go to Disney, since I know I will be eating whatever I want down there so as to have a cushion.Well i'm off to take a walk! I'll update in a few days since I probably won't have time this weekend! (i'm working three 12 hour shifts in a row starting tonight) Thanks for reading this! I love reading the journals, they are inspirational!12 noon: Just got back from a three mile walk, chilly out but worthwile!
 
So I have been awake since I posted the last thread, actually I've been awake for 27 hours (I worked last night) and I feel I have done pretty well with eating. I didn't cheat or breakdown and eat a candy bar or bag of chips, and the taste of diet coke with lime last night was actually too sweet for me, I guess it's good to drink only water! Yesterday I ate for breakfast a low carb bar and some low carb pudding, then for lunch I had a ham and cheese wrap. I had another wrap right before I went to work and then at work I had a BLT salad later on in the night. I figure that's not too bad considering I was up for over 24 hours straight. My only "cheat" is that I had one extra low carb slim fast snack bar (the peanut butter crunch ones are so good, they taste like butterfinger bars). I usually limit myself to one, but I was starving on the way to work. I won't be exercising today since sleep before going back to work tonight is my number one priority, but I will be eating healthy again tonight! Here's to another successful day!

I have done pretty good today, I went to work feeling refreshed and in a good mood last night. It is amazing how doing a little something for yourself will make you feel good. Had some low carb soup and a wrap for dinner, didn't cheat, even though sometimes I am so hungry, especially toward the end of the shift. Went grocery shopping after work and had no desire to buy or eat any junk, even though I was starving, and that was a great feeling. Got on the scale this afternoon, it said 206, but with my schedule the way it is that doesn't surprise me, I never know when to really weigh myself. Since it's common knowledge you are supposed to do it first thing in the morning, i'm not sure when to do it on my nights I work since night is my daytime. I feel good about myself though and I know that just eating healthier is helping me to feel some sense of accomplishment.I had a great brainstorm yesterday and talked it over with my aunt, we want to go to Disney as a group next February, there will be hopefully six of us, maybe more, it depends on if I can talk my grandmother and mother into going. They need to though, there is nothing wrong with taking a nice vacation, especially if someone else is paying for it! :sunny:
 

Well i'm back on my Journal, it's been nearly two months since my last entry. Going to Disney and work has been keeping me pretty busy. After I got back from Florida I really slacked off when it comes to dieting, but i've been back on track for about a week now. I can't believe it but I actually gained weight at Disney, I don't know how that's possible with all the walking but it is! So now i'm working on that and then some. Doing the low carb thing again, so far it is going good.
 
Hi, I'm Jen...new to the boards (arrived May 19th) but losing some weight and enjoying being here...keep on keeping on and you will surely do it!!! Just hang in there!!!
