I buy the "Tinkerbelle" gifts all year. Whenever I see something at TDS, Walmart, Dollar Store, CLaire's etc. I pick it up and stick it in a bag in the back of my walk in closet so the kids don't see. Well the other day I finally sorted them (3 kids) to pack for shipping and who knew I had so much. It really accumulated. Thank goodness I didn't have to buy it all at once. DH would drop dead if he knew how much money this stuff added up to. Luckily he doesn't have a clue.

DOes this happen to you guys - do you just keep adding things and then be surprised by how much you've ended up with?

I was just adding another bag from the disney store the other day. My closet is stuffed with tinkerbell gifts for my two girls our trip isn't until the end of October I should start going through everything I have way too much and should need another suitcase to pack it all in. Target just marked down the tinkerbell hair assessories, but I paid full price when they came out a few months ago I also found tinkerbell PJ bottoms on clearance for adults the other day.
We do but less at the parks when we buy everything ahead of time. Have fun on your trip can't wait for Oct

I'm shipping mine down this year because I would need another suitcase and DH complains I pack too much already!

I feel silly for asking this  but what is a Tinkerbelle gift and where are you shipping it to? I would guess it is a gift who put together for your child to receive upon arrival to Disney. Is this some kind of tradition that disney knows about and has it waiting in your room or something? Do they take it out of the packaging for you?
thx
:smooth:

Tinkerbelle gifts (at least in our family) our gifts that Tinkerbelle leaves at night. I ship them to the hotel and then sneak around at night leaving them in special Disney bags (that I get from the dollar store). The kids love them - I leave things like Disney lollipops, princess journals or diaries, princess or Mickey markers, pens, crayons and notebooks, princess jewelery, stuffed animals, pajamas tee shirts, glow in the dark bracelets and such, just a lot of little disney related things (make up, hair accessories) whatever I can find.

We are staying at the CBR. We will check in on July 1. Will the resort let you ship items ahead of time. I never knew that I could ship a box down ahead of time. Hubby keeps complaining about all the Tinkerbell gifts and I will probably have to use another suitcase to take them in. So I would like to know if I have to call the resort first or how I should go about doing this. Also how early do you ship them.

I appreciate all the help.

Yes, you can ship them to the hotel ahead of time. They will put it in their storage room for you. Just make sure to have your reservation number on the box. We're arriving at GF on July 1 and I will be shipping ours on Monday or Tuesday. It depends on how you are shipping them - DH wants to go the cheap route so we're shipping ours early!

DisneymomX7.... You sound so much like me!!! I do the same thing... shopping all year and hiding my goodies in our walk-in-closet!! I can't wait until our trip, this will be the first year I leave them treats on thier pillows!! Thanks for the inspiration!!! :cheer2:

I can't wait to hear all about your trip when you get back! I hope you and your family have a Magical trip! BTW, we got RPC for our 1st 4 days and LVC at the Poly for the last 3 (one room). Thanks for the advice.

:cheer2: I start buying things like you and putting it up in my closet. We started making everyone disney bags and giving it to them when we check into our hotel. My husband paints everyone a disney glass. Every yr he changes the type of glass and the theme. I always rack up on the clearance stuff @ the disney store and I went overboard with the keychains last yr because I found some @ the dollar store. We ask for disney dollars for our birthdays and christmas and last yr we didn't dip into our money at all. only disney dollars. We will do that every yr. :earsgirl: That is one of the highlights for the 1st night is disney bags. We decorate our car with mickey decals, etc. so if you find those let me know. :wave2:

You're welcome, but I learned about the Tinkerbelle gifts here on the board, also about shipping them (and the girls costumes). Anything that makes my life easier - like not hearing DH moan and groan about all the suitcases. Honestly, this man thinks I can pack 5 people for 18 days and in his mind we shouldn't need more than 3 or 4 suitcases. Of course if he packed we wouldn't have so much as a band aid, let alone shout wipes, instant soap, kids medicine, ponchos etc. But what they heck - he doesn't ask anymore what it all costs so I come out ahead.

Thanks - I can't believe its getting so close. I'm starting to feel like I'm almost ready. Unfortunately for some crazy reason I'm having ds's pre-school birthday party 3 days before we leave, and its the first time any of the kids asked to have it at home (we have an inground pool). I'd give anything if we were just going to Build a Bear again.

You'll have to let me know how you like RPC. We've never done concierge at Disney (only Club level at HRH) because I like making my own PS's and the kids like going out to the character breakfasts so I couldn't justify the cost. I'm dying to know how you like it though. Poly? What happened to the CR? You are just like me - CRO must know by voice by how many times I change our res. and dining because I'm always changing our PS's. I think you'll like the POly better - it has a great atmosphere.

Not to hijack your thread. We decided to do one room Main Bldg RPC at GF. Had it available the 1st 4 days. Want to do concierge if we're in one room. CR have to have 2 rooms for 14th floor and it's booked. We honeymooned at the Poly and it's our 10th anniversary, so Poly LVC seemed like a good choice.

We're doing 5 or 6 character meals, but will try to do them for lunch or dinner and eat b'fast in concierge. The food is one reason we're doing Concierge, but also to have somewhere to spread out in case the room gets "tight".

have a good party. My kiddos 5th b'day is next week, and we're having a HUGE (45+ kids) party at one of those inflatable/jumpy places (DH vetoed a home party- too much cleaning afterwards!).

Have a great trip!

Tink only comes to our house, not the Disney hotel. She has taken over for the Tooth Fairy, and leaves Disney Dollars under DDs pillow.

Mickey Mouse is the one who leaves presents for DD in the hotel room- did you know he spends his days (when he's not meeting and greeting at the Judges Tent) going from one resort to the next, leaving good little girls and boys neat Disney stuff? ;)

When do you get to the point in a marriage when he stops asking how much things cost??? I will look forward to that year!!! lol :wave2: Please tell me its around the 5th????!!! :love2:

Well I'm 47 and DH and I started dating when I was 14 and he was 15! He still asks how much some things are - he just doesn't want to know how much the vacation is. He enjoys it too much and probably wouldn't if he knew how much it really cost - especially since he loves the GF

It's Mickey not Tink who leaves dd things at the hotel, he usually leaves it there for her to find when we check in. I love finding stuff. I need top go through my closet and I know Mickey was really nice this year! Mickey also always leaves Gramma things if she goes. Last time dd said "Wow gramma, you're lucky Mickey really loves kids and old people!" Thank goodness my mom found that funny!

I also buy as soon as the trip is planned. Every time I go to a store, any store, I am looking for tinkerbell gifts!

Tinkerbell visits us too...
I shop all year for presents for everyone...including christmas presents..so Tinkerbell shopping kinda just fits in there! I usually bring the "little things" cause Tinkerbelle can only carry so much ya know! :cloud9: It is getting harder to shop for DD9 though..not as easliy pleased (Im grateful she hasnt "out-ed" Tinkerbelle! but my motto is if u dont believe you dont receive!) What are some good DD9 presents?
