This really sounds like good fun and we would like to go the day we arrive on 23rd December. I read Elaine's report and wondered about the kid's meal and if there are any other choices - smoked salmon is definitley a no-go for my fussy eater DD. Also would be interested to know if anyone has been or seen any other reviews.

What is the tinkerbell show?
Have a look here.

Pigby, perhaps it might be worth contacting DLRP to see if they can offer an alternative ~ perhaps they do this for vegetarians? I had asked another DISer about the meal before and we went with the attitiude that we were going for the show rather than the food.

What is the duration of the show?

Is it possible to do a reservations if we are stayin not in disney's hotels, but in Explorers?

Pigby,

We did the Christmas Day LUNCHTIME Tinkerbell show last year and despite what I read on this forum, we had a really enjoyable time.

We arrived at 12 and as expected had to queue to be seated. Each child was given a gift on arrival and the first of the freeflowing wine, champagne and water arrived soon after. We were sat on a table for 6 and enjoyed the company of a lovely couple who were staying at the DLH. There is a large stage and a smaller stage in the middle of the tables which is used during the show which was about an hour long.

The food was hot, well cooked and to our taste, although if your children are not used to rich food then they may not eat much aside from the traditional cooked main course.

The show was traditional disney with dances from around the world (Irish, hungarian, brazilian) and was very colourful. Santa made an appearance too.

I cant remember how much we paid but it was expensive. Was it worth it ? YES YES YES. It was the icing on the cake for our first Christmas in DLP.

Others in the room were not so complimentary though. Colder food, slow service and a bad view of the stage. we were very lucky we had great service, great food and met a lovely couple.

Hope that helps

I hadn't realised there was a traditional main course - does that mean the usual turkey and potatoes etc - if so, my DD may be OK - I don't mind if she doesn't eat everything - just a bit of something so we don't have to trek to McDonalds afterwards :sad2:

BTW on another post I notice that you are thinking of Lucky Nugget at lunchtime on Christmas Day - if so, we may see you there.

I think I may book this for our January trip. It looks lovely and I can always take a snack bag for DD if the food is not to her choice :rotfl:

According to website you can book on 08705030303.

It doesn't give times or prices on the website that I can see . Can anyone advise?

Pigby, yes it was although the gravy had red wine in it and the potatoes were heavily seasoned. If your DC is a picky eater it may not suit. We had Christmas Pudding and Cream afterwards, followed by a cheese dish (Yuk). Starter was salmon which was lovely if you like fish (which we dont so gave ours away). And average sized portions, not the volumes you get at home - LOL

I will try to dig out some photos later so you get a real feel of the event which was done on a large scale- there wer a few hundred in the auditorium with 2 kitchens (one on each end of the room) serving the food.

Disneyangel, I rang the NBH for a menu which may be worth doing in case they change the menus every year. There were two sittings on Christmas Day, lunchtime and evening but seemed to be just the evening at all other times.

A real teat if you can afford it and IMO well worth the expense.
