Tinkerbell half 2015

Does anyone have a clue as to what dates this will take place?

What hotels do you stay in?

I am thinking of NOT doing the Disney marathon weekend next year and trying something different...like Tink...and I am totally unfamiliar with anything Ca.

I know sometimes when you go to a race...like marathon weekend...there is generally something that will state the guesstimated dates for next year....so I was wondering if anyone knew about Tink.

Oh and is it a good race?

I ran Tink in January 2014 (so 2 months ago) but for 2015 they will be holding it on Mother's Day Weekend in May (7-10). Registration will open August 12.

We stayed at the Grand Californian, which was wonderful because we were able to walk right to the corrals. Paradise Pier will give you that same convenience and is a bit less expensive.

I really liked Tinker bell. I also ran Princess about a month later and I liked Tinkerbell better. Tinkerbell was more "in the parks" --approx. the first 6 miles. The rest of the race was through the streets of Anaheim, so no character photo ops. But there was TONS of community support with marching bands, cheerleaders, the Red Hat society, and even just people out cheering. It was great!

I am not too sure which race I want to do for 2015. I was sort of considering the W/D at the end of this year, but my mind was made up for me when the race sold out in a day!
I have done marathon weekend a few years now and did the Goofy and the Dopey so I think I am up for something and someplace different.
I would love to do the Princess and or the Tink but probably not both.

No matter what I chose to do, I know I had better have my cc at the waiting as soon as registration opens up!

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned in other threads yet, but do we know when the 2015 Tinkerbell HM registration opens? I figure it'll be a few months after the 2015 Princess HM registration opens (so, around October of this year), but I just want to be sure I mark my calendar with the right date since it's looking these bad boys fill up fast! TIA!

Nevermind, I just checked the email I got for the W&D and see they listed the Tinkerbell Half as opening for registration on 8/12/2014.

For what it's worth, if you were leaning toward W&D, you might still be able to check with Disney travel providers for race entries. We called GET Travel in mid-September last year after finishing the DL 1/2 and were able to get two entries to the sold-out Tower of Terror. I've not heard how many entries the travel providers might have gotten or might have left, but it's a possibility to be aware of before moving on to another race.

On the subject of Tink, while we've not run the race, we have heard good things and we enjoyed our visit to Disneyland last year for the DL 1/2. You can stay at the Disney hotels, but they are all priced about in line with the WDW Deluxe hotels; if you usually try to stay in moderate or value priced resorts, there are a number of different hotels surrounding the park that you can get in that price range with the added value of being able to walk to the park gates in 10-15 minutes. We had a good stay at the Ramada Maingate on Harbor Blvd and I think several other hotels along that stretch have gotten good reviews.
