Timon Parking Lot?

My aunt and I will be staying at the Jolly Roger Inn (her choice) when we stay overnight in May and the closest way to the entrance of the parks would be to cut through the Timon Parking lot and use the Lion King and Friends Tram. Is this possible for people who are not parking in the lot? If so, how early does it start running?

If the tram in that lot is running when you are there, you can hop on it Sometimes on off-peak seasons they don't run in the mornings.
