One week from today we will be checking into the Anaheim Hilton, and making our way to the parks.
My question is....is the Timon lot open for the forseeable future, and what hours does the parking lot tram run ?
Obviously my first time at the Hilton!

Timon lot is open until they start building CarsLand. But it's not always open or it's small so it fills up fast. On all of my trips this year we've only parked in the Timon lot once. The tram run I think 30 min. before and after park hours but I'm not 100% sure on that.

I went over to the Dark Side (that rather infamous site) and found a thread from a few months ago. Opening time seems to be from 9 AM to 10 AM, with a CM reporting that Timon often fills up in a few hours.

so when it fills do they quit running the tram ?
I may not have been clear.....we will be walking from the Hilton to the parks and I understand the easiest way is to cross the street and catch the tram in the Timon parking lot.
I don't want to waste time waiting for a tram that will not be coming.

If they are using the lot they will be running trams, if not then they won't. You will know they are using the lot if it's got cars in it. :) When they don't use it they just route everyone to Mickey & Friend parking structure and those are the only trams that will be running. The M&Fs & Timon trams drop off & pick up in completely different places.

When do they ever have that parking lot open?? We parked there once during our trip in 2007 of December and it was never open any other days after that at least in the mornings when we arrived and again during our trip in 2008 of December we always had to park in the Mickey Garage.

Where is this parking lot??? I am very curious about it!! We have never had to drive to Disneyland before (always had a hotel shuttle) but are probably going to this time as we are staying at the Hilton Garden Inn and don't want to walk the distance!

Timon is off of Harbour using the old entrance and located in the southeast corner of the property behind Bug's Land and DCA.

WARNINGS

They run one tram stop ONLY and it is at the north area next to disabled parking.

Overflow parking is sent to Simba parking which is south of the Paradise Pier and there is no tram to DCA, DLR or anywhere else. YOU WALK.

Disabled guests are told to turn right and are left on their own as happened to me last week. You then head west on the road toward Downtown parking but keep going until the road ends then drive around the parking garage all the way back around to the road that leads to the parking structure. You then wait 45 minuets to an hour while a ditzy manager directs one lane of traffic. the people in the far left lanes will wait 10 to 20 minutes as nobody can get over there and they are running 2 CM per booth unlike the far slow right lanes.

City Hall does not care that parking is messed up on busy days or that you have now spent an hour driving all over the place.

It is not worth the betting that you get a close parking space for disabled guests and not worth the chance you might end up in Simba and have to walk from Katella to the monorail or trams at Micky and friends.

When the lot fills up, they still run trams, as guests need to return to their cars. I think they just don't run the trams with the same frequency until the late afternoon/evening. But the trams continue during the day. :)

When Timon fills then they ship everyone over to other lots and those people have to walk. They do continue to run the trams from about an hour before opening to an hour after closing even if there are no guests waiting. Just keep circling as eventually people go home and some new people come back from their cars or whatever.

As I stated the problem is that once that lot is full you are left to get to the mickey and friends on your own or walk a long long way. They used to run a tram around to Simba then back to Timon but not any more.

It has been open almost every day of our trips so far this year that we have parked. So twice in Feb and once in March, we got there in time to park there once only.

It's off Harbor, turn where the main entrance to parking used to be, you drive thru the gates and the Timon lot is right there. It's small so it's filled pretty quickly.

Overflow parking is not always sent to the Simba lot, we have been sent there only once, every other time we have been sent to M&Fs, where we do not have the same problems that mechurchlady seems to have had. EVERY time we've parked at M&Fs they have most of the gates open, the ones closed are usually the 2 at the very far left. We've never had to wait that long to get thru the line in the parking structure. On another note, if you do not want to park in the Simba lot you can let them parking attendent know and they will clear you to park in M&Fs instead.

When Timon fills then they ship everyone over to other lots and those people have to walk. There is not a tram to Simba, as mechurchlady states, but there IS a tram to and from Mickey & Friends. So depending on where you park you may or may not have a tram.

And when they are shipping people to M & F that means you have to drive from Katella area all the way to Ball then make a U-turn and get in the farthest left lane.

I know as I was there and it was over 40 minute and I have knee problems and a giant bruised leg. My foot and ankle were in pain from constantly holding down the brake pedal.:woohoo: :headache:

They give you a little slip of paper with crystal clear directions of how to get to M&F. I have always found it to be pretty impressive how they handle it when one lot fills. Sorry you had a bad experience.

Again my experience is different. Only ONE time did they send us all the way around, the other times they routed us down Magic Way towards DTD parking. That's one time out of 10, 1 time out of that 10 we were in the Timon lot and 1 time in the Simba lot, so really it was 1 time out of 8 and that was just this year in Feb & March.

And like Disney Dreams said they give you a slip of paper with good detailed info on how to get into the M&F structure from where you are. :)

What Buzz Lightyear lot? There is Simba, Timon, Pinocchio and the parking structure.....

And yup, that's the card we usually get when driving thru the main parking gate. :)

I had to add that ... believe me, if you never hear of the Buzz Lightyear lot again, you wouldn't have missed anything (good)

It's the parking lot of last resort for DLR, and it may be transformed into the "third gate" of DLR some day.

I never got the paper and thus when told to go right assumed they would be using the easier south side entrance into M & F.

Buzz Lightyear is also known as Pumba lot and you better bring bicycles as it is a long long walk there and back. Even with an ECV of my own I would not want to have to go from there to the parks.
