Timing when ordering the DDE card

If I want the card for my Jan. '08 trip (Jan. 20-Feb. 1 to be exact) and don't want the card to expire until the end of Jan. '09, when should I call to order it? TIA!

Call in and they will tell you the answer, but I THINK you would do it in early nov.

The last time I ordered my card it took 2 1/2 weeks. I need the same exact card as you. My trip is Jan. 26-Feb 1, 08, so I plan to call the second week of December 07. I agree, tell the DDE CM that you want an expiration of January 2009 and ask if this is when you should order it. Usually as long as you order it after the 7th of the month you should be good for 13 months. HOWEVER, there is a thread rolling around that some changes are coming to the DDE card with an announcement in November. Not sure what it means, though there are rumors. Not sure how this will impact you.

You would need to order it after December 9th.

I remember reading a post a long time ago that someone was told the date change occurs on the first Monday of the month, or maybe the day following? I tested that this month by calling to order a new DDE card on Tuesday Sept 4th and I got an Oct 31, 2008 expiration date!

Thanks for the replies! This is just what I wanted to know.

Hopefully the changes to the DDE card won't be too bad. I had the card for 4 trips that fell within 13 months, and it saved me a bundle. If it changes significantly, I'll have to crunch some numbers to decide if it's still worth it.
