I have a couple timing questions...

1.) How much time should we allow when traveling between resorts? I assume we have to go by bus, if we don't want to pay for a taxi?

2.) When using Magical Express, when we land, how much time should we plan for, airport to resort?

Thanks :goodvibes

Between resorts a 1 1/2 hours minimum, there aren't any resort to resort buses so you have to change buses at a park or DTD.

ME about the same, due to the wait at MCO and each bus can make up to 4 stops.

We've never used ME from the airport, so I can't help you there. If you are traveling resort - to - resort for dining, 1.5-2 hours is a good guess (taxis are certainly much faster).

However, if you are talking about resort-to-resort on the day you move (I saw on another thread that you have a split stay) I would let Bell Services transfer your luggage for you. Just pack up, tell BS you are moving to BCV, and they will deliver your luggage for you. Head to a park like normal that day from your first resort. Then, when you are done at said park, take a bus, walk, etc. to your new resort. You can check in then. It saves a lot of time and hassle.

Resort to resort takes a long time. Is the 1.5 - 2 hours you all estimated round trip or one way? If it is one way, I'm over that plan. How much are taxis?

One way! Think about it, you wait for a bus at your resort, take the bus to your transfer point with possible stops along the way, get off the bus and wait for the resort bus that takes you to the resort you want to go to with more possible stops along the way. It all depends on the resorts, time of year etc.

You can go to the Mears Transportation website and use the Taxi estimator for a price quote.

Personally we rent a car when we are at WDW.

Take a cab...along with the luggage, check in and meet up with the rest of the family at whatever park they are at...put your swim suits in a separate bag and check in separately at the new place in case you want to come back and swim and the room isn't ready. early check-in may be helpful to get an earlier room assignment.

What resort are you starting from? Makes a big difference. If starting at BLT, it's an easy walk to the MK busses and the whole resort-to-resort trip should be no more than an hour.

Same thing for SSR and DTD, especially if you are staying in Congress Park section of SSR.

Otherwise, I'd definitely plan on 1 - 1 1/2 hours for one way. Disney themselves recommend one hour in the planning.

We've used ME three times. Fastest was about 1 1/2 hours, slowest was over two hours.
