Just a quick question to all you brides that had a 12 pm ceremony time?

Originally we were looking at a 2:30pm time as I want a dessert reception but I was wondering if we moved it to 12pm can we still have a dessert reception as we would have a spare 2.5 hours.

My question is did anyone else have or is having this probelm and what was the solutions?

I'm already looking at costs and it seems having a earlier ceremony would save us money on the min required for food etc

Our ceremony is at 12:00. We are then holding our pre-reception/reception from 1:00-4:00 (would normally go until 5:00, but our venue cuts off at 4:00.) Then our dessert party will be from 8:30-9:30 pm. It will give guests about 3.5 hours (after you factor in travel time) in between to rest, change clothes, go to the parks, or whatever they would like to do. Let me know if you need any more info :goodvibes

I suppose I'm worried as normally you dont really get a break and I dont really want my guests disappearing for a few hours so didnt know if we could do something else in between

Where are you holding yours and why does it cut off at 5?

My wedding will be at 10 am, our reception from 11-4, and then our dessert party will be from 8:30-9:30 pm. I was a little worried about the break between, but then I thought about it and I think it is a good thing. Our guests will have 4 hours to rest, go to the parks, etc. With as many kids as we will have, I think it is a good thing.

I wouldn't be too worried about not normally getting a break at weddings and your guests disappearing. I think if your guests make the trip to Disney for your wedding, they will come for the dessert party later that evening. Personally, I have been selling up my dessert party (I am so excited about it)...I imagine if you do the same thing there is no way any of your guests will want to miss it.

Good luck!

I don't think I'd worry about people 'disappearing.' Just make sure they are well aware of the schedule of events, and like Thumper's Tara said, it will give them time to rest (especially anyone who brought children.) I can't imagine going to a wedding that lasted all day straight through with no break.

Our reception is at the California Grill. They start serving dinner at 5:00, so we have to be out of there at 4:00. We originally had the Napa room and could've stayed longer since it's a separate room, but we wanted to move into the more spacious dining area, so we had to cut an hour off our reception.
