Timing question for California Grill/Fireworks Cruise

I would like to surprise the DW with a member fireworks cruise on the day we arrive. I'm thinking I would make reservations at California Grill, then we could slip on down to the dock for the cruise. We've never eaten at California Grill, so I'm wondering how long I should allow for the meal. From other posts it's sounding like we need to be ready for the cruise around 6:00pm or 6:30pm. Our flight is supposed to come in at 2:30pm. I certainly don't want to rush things either. Thanks for the assist!

I would not rush my CG meal. You have an excellent view of the fireworks from the CG. I would schedule the cruise for another time.

To be short, our meal took 2 hours from start to finish but we also went during the fireworks time so things stop during that time--the lights go down and they pipe the sound in from the MK. It was a great experience and a wonderful meal. But, plan on about 1 1/2 to 2 hours.

I guess she'll have to be happy with just the meal. Called first thing this morning and the cruise was already full!

I think it would have been difficult for you to have an enjoyable meal and make the cruise. You would have had to rush. It seems like we always spend a couple of hours at Cali Grill when we eat there.

As I recall, CG reservations start at 5 pm. That's just not enough time to get to the dock by 6 or 6:30 - you'll need at least 90 minutes. (I post so you won't feel too disappointed that the cruise was sold out).

Why not schedule the CG dinner for a little later and then go up to the TOTWL lounge for after dinner drinks and WISHES?
