timing MK dinner with Villains After Hours

We have tickets to VAH in June. We are staying at the Boardwalk Inn and will be spending the morning into early afternoon at Epcot. We have hoppers so we can head over to MK anytime. I want to book dinner at Skipper Canteen; would 5 be a good time to eat and then get out and ride some rides before VAH?

We’re doing VAH in June too on our arrival day and having a hard time with these plans. Right now our plan is arriving at CB at 2pm, a late lunch at 3pm at Beaches & Cream, and then a light dinner at the Plaza from 8-9pm. We’re worried that we’ll never make it up to (nearly?) 1am if we eat dinner too early.

On the other hand, I hate to miss the park time so I may change things around & just have us do dinner from 6-7, similar to what you’re doing.

I have VAH on my last day in June too!
I have a weird day planned though, I moved some things around so I could make my last day my DHS day, so I stand a better chance of getting MMRR FP (not bothered either way SWGE-wise) so, bizarrely, I have a 10am Garden Grill (this was an epcot day) after which I plan to get on the Behind the Seeds tour if possible then head over to HS on the Skyliner, with hopefully some afternoon FPs. I have an Oga's at 4:45, after which I plan to head over to MK ready for VAH. I have hoppers and this is the best way I think to fit everything into my short trip.

Yes you should be able to check in and do dinner at 5 and then get out. We have enjoyed Skipper's the last two trips and they are fairly quick.
