so I just booked my dinner reservations at Ohanas for 26 people at 9:10 pm on September 1st. When I called WDW-DINE, the woman I spoke with was sort of annoying at first and I almost hung up on her cause I felt like she wasn't really listening to what I was saying, but eventually it was ok...

so I told her I'd like to sit by the windows if possible and be eating as the fireworks are going off, but being that it's only February right now, she couldn't look up the times for the fireworks in September.. I totally understood that and she said she would guess they would be around 10 .. so she booked my dinner at 9:10.

So I'm assuming as it gets closer, I should call and find out what time the fireworks are scheduled for and reschedule my dinner?

I mean, how do people work it out so you're eating dinner at the exact time you want to be eating? especially if it's during the fireworks display?

I was going to try to get my group to go on one of those fireworks boat cruises but they are TOO expensive, so I reluctantly decided over the weekend that dinner at ohana's would have to be it .... but now I'm worried it won't be timed out right.

what do you guys think? am I just worrying too much? :sad2:

I checked the park hours for September of last year (2006) on wdwinfo.com and on September 1st (a Friday) Wishes was at 10. This year Sept. 1 is a Saturday, and inaccordance with last year on Saturday the 2nd, Wishes was held at 10. It looks that during the week it is held at 9, and weekends at 10 (according to last years times). I don't know if it will be the same this year, but thought it might be similar. I'm not promising anything, but checking last year was the only idea I could think of.:confused3
Also, you could try to move the reservation earlier, like at 8:30, that way if Wishes is at 9:00 you'll get there just in time (with an 8:30 ressie, I'd get to Ohana's at 8 so they can start getting and saving the tables) and even if it is at 10, you'll be finishing your meal just in time (it takes awhile for 26 people to eat, at least 1 1/2 hours). Hope this helps a bit. I'm planning to do the same thing for my Welcome dinner, since we can't afford a private cruise either.

I booked ohanas for the 26 of july and she told us wishes would be at 10 then as well.....I am a little nervous about it as well

oh my gosh, thank you so much! I didn't even think to look at the times from last year.. what a smart cookie you are! :yay:

maybe I'll see if I can move it a little closer to 8:30.. thanks! you're a lifesaver!

Jasnel the times for july are already on the disney site, on the 26th wishes is at 10pm.
Im waiting for september times too, they are up to august at the moment so hopefully it wont be too long. Im planning a similar thing only we want to eat at Kona Cafe and be finished our meal and go outside in time to watch wishes and the water pageant. Cant make my ADR's for another couple of weeks but im hoping wishes is at 9pm on 20th september so that i can make my reservation for around 7pm.
By the way where did you find last years times?

AllisonJane, what is Kona Cafe like? Is it very fancy? Could I wear my wedding dress there and not feel weird?

Allisonjane thank you so much!! I didn't know the times were already posted on the site for wishes! now I can have some relief!!!

princess i've never eaten there before but all the reports on here say the food is very good, i'll be wearing my wedding dress and hopefully i wont feel too out of place, i think its quite casual but then all the polynesian resort is lovely so im sure it will be ok. I have some very fussy eaters in my party so had to find somewhere with a menu to please everyone, none of us really like fancy food

Try calling within the next month and ask about the firework timing.. And if they dont know by then. then keep calling every week or every month..I would be paranoid too. But I know Firework times are usually 9, or 10pm.. Hope everything works out:hug: :cool1:
