If it were possible, would you do it?

Who/what would you see?

What would you do?

and lets say, that you could change things without nasty side effects.

What would you change?

This is an interesting Topic. :)

If I could time travel I'd love to see my younger self if that were possible (Don't want to cause any paradoxies) or see what would happen in the future. It would be fun to be in a whole new world with different things happening. Who knows; perhaps they'll invent teleportation in the future?? :goodvibes

Wouldn't change anything as there are things that just have to be. :)

If it were possible, would you do it?
Yes!
Who/what would you see?
My grandma who died 6 years before I was born.
What would you do?
Get to know her and talk to her about my life.
and lets say, that you could change things without nasty side effects.

What would you change?
I'd make her live 20 years longer, so I could actually meet her, but if that did happen, I wouldn't be writing all of this right now.

This is a really interesting topic.

yes.

Who/what would you see?
Basically, everything.
I'd like to take a visit to almost every time period.
& I'd like to see my grandmother on my father's side.
She died when he was eleven.
I wouldn't want to talk to her, just see her.

What would you do?
Nothing in particular.. just roam the centuries.
Maybe take a quick peak at myself when I'm older..
& go back to when I was younger.. see how stupid I was.

and lets say, that you could change things without nasty side effects.

What would you change?
There's so many things I'd love to change..
But, I wouldn't. I'd never change a thing.

OH yes, disregarding paradox (one reason why I like Doctor Who a lot - he has complete disregard for messin' around with the time line. :teeth: )

Mostly, I'd like to see places - grand old cities in their prime, monuments being built, untouched wild land... et cetera. To see extinct animal species would be awesome, too.

yes, id go back to the date when my uncle was killed in a car accident, tell him not to leave his friends house.

also id go to the future to see how i am supposed to be in the future then see what i need to change to be happier/better/whatever.

It is possible. Well, sort of.

You can go forward in time. Going back is theoretically impossible.

I knew you were going to bring that up.

It IS possible, but its not practical.

If it were possible, would you do it?
yes
Who/what would you see?
i would come to the 20's, 40's, and 50's time periods i love the clothes they wore in those time periods
What would you do? i'd buy tons of clothes cause i love the vintage clothes from those times

and lets say, that you could change things without nasty side effects.

What would you change? i wouldn't change anything cause i believe everything happens for a reason

Hmmm... maybe I could meet some of my ancestors and talk to them. That could be pretty interesting.

Oh man. I would love to be able to.

I would have loved to be able to see Woodstock.

And I would have talked Roger Peterson out of flying Buddy Holly, JP Richardson, and Ritchie Valens that night.

I would want to meet Walt Disney, also. I think it would be fascinating to talk with him.

On a more personal note, I would have gone back to the restaurant where my grandma slipped and fell on a patch of ice, went into a coma, and later passed away to try to tell her to go to a different restaurant or something.

i would like to meet walt disney and audrey hepburn. i would change things without the side effects.

I'd go back to the 70's.
Possibly.. just kind of stay there. I'd live in an area where tree huggers are abundant.

I however, would never go back in time to fix things. Sure, things would be better if I had made more concious decisions as a kid (like I decided to only have one friend when I was in grade 1) but I don't particularly regret anything.

Going backwards is theoretically possible also.

Can anyone elaborate on this?
I'd just like to know how this is possible. (I just want to know how you understand it.)

The thing is, even if you could go back, nothing would change. Whatever you change will alreajdy have happened from the future you going in the past on the first place. It is a never ending cycle if one were to think about it.

Or you have a paradox because if you go back to kill you Grandfather ( just hypothetical ) you will never be born. But since you were never born, your grandfather couldn't be killed,.

But if I could, and just observe, I would go back to see Jesus' ministry, as well as the signings of very important documents and treaties that changed the world. Oh, and the first day Disneyworld and Land opened.

If it were possible, would you do it?
Yes of course!

Who/what would you see?
First I would go back to 1962 and warn Marilyn Monroe that her life was spiraling out of control and that she woudln't have long.... Then I'd go to the 1969 to see what my mom was like as a kid. And I'd warn my gma about my uncle getting burnt and being sick for life. Then I'd got to 1975 just to look around... Then I'd be off to the 80"s to see what my parents were like then, hehe... Then I'd go of to the mid 90's to see what I was like as a kid... Then I'd go to 2000 and enjoy my first Dis world trip again. Then I'd tell my cousin in 2001 never to join the Marines because a war was coming.... Then I'd go to the last day of school this year! yay!!! Then I'd go to when I was graduating college and see how I was then. Then I'd go 5 years later and see where I was and then I'd go to when I was 40 to see who was still with me then... Then I'd go to when I was 60 just to see what I looked like. Then I'd permanetly travel to the last day of school this year until the and of the summer and on and on and on...... (ummmm I've thought about this a little little bit)

and lets say, that you could change things without nasty side effects.

What would you change?
I would go back and erase ALLLLLLL those days I've missed from school this year...woooo! And I'd spend thanksgiving with my uncle WayneWayne last year and tell him to go to the hospital then and maybe he would have made it...That's basically it... besides if I could relive my entire life I'd be a lot more outgoing and worry free about what others thought....
