We're staying at Bonnet Creek, but I have a general question about what's normally in the kitchen of a timeshare unit?

Can opener
Coffee filters
Aluminum foil
Pots and pans
Cooking Utensils
Dishes
Utensils
etc, etc.

We plan on going to WalMart, but I don't want to go overboard and buy things I don't need.

every timeshare is different.

go check in and see for yourself what is included in your unit.

I have never seem Aluminum foil in any villa. So definitely bring that.

also like to have ziplock bags.

I've never stayed at Bonnet Creek, but have stayed at numerous timeshares. In my experience items included are:
Pots & pans, other cookware (cookie sheet, casserole dishes)
Cooking utensils
Place settings for occupancy number (ie. 6 plates, 6 sets of silverware, etc)
Variety of glassware (again 6 of each style)
Toaster, Microwave, can opener (manual), coffee maker, mixer,(most appliances)
Measuring cups, spoons
Basically most things you would find in a typical kitchen
They usually provide starter packets of dish soap (and sponge) and dishwasher detergent - sometimes we need more, but not typically
Garbage bags
1 roll paper towels

Any item that is replaceable you need to purchase:
Foil, saran wrap, ziploc bags, etc
Coffee filters (they usually give you a few, but not enough for the entire week)
Extra paper products - napkins, paper plates
Salt & pepper - sometimes provided, but not always

That's all I can think of for now - I'll post later is I think of more. We LOVE staying in timeshares!!!

I agree, they're all different, but most have the basics. I've even seen blenders and crockpots in some. If you're looking for something very specific, call first so you'll be sure.

I've also never seen aluminum foil (or plastic wrap) in the kitchens where we've stayed. Bring along your own laundry detergent and fabric softener sheets--they'll usually give a starter, but that's all. Ziplock bags, coffee filters, and one of those salt/pepper dispensers from Dollar Tree are good too.

Oh, paper plates and napkins too--but you can buy those when you get there!

Usually the timeshare has a website that you can go to, to see what is provided. Most of the time it is your basic cooking utensils. When I make my Walmart stop things I pick up are : Ziplock bags, coffee supplies, laundry soap, and sometimes dishwash soap (check to see if you have enough in your unit).

I stayed in a condo that asked me, on check out day, to strip the beds, gather the towels and start a load of laundry if I had time. They didn't provide any laundry soap. Did the person before me have soap to wash the sheets I just slept on?

I always need to buy garbage bags, paper towels, and even had to buy more toilet paper.

Bearvet had it right, when it comes to Wyndham resorts, like Bonnet Creek. They do provide hairdryers and small soaps/lotions in the bathrooms. There's a single use sized box of detergent for the washer and tissue boxes. They have a couple tupperware-type containers in the kitchen, one packet of coffee and several filters. These condos are well-stocked, as timeshares go.

We bring extra laundry detergent, dryer sheets, spices, favorite coffee, condiments, ziplocs, paper plates/cups for poolside or balcony dining, general food, toiletries and clothing.

We've usually started a load of dishes in the dishwasher before we leave but I've never heard of a timeshare asking anyone to start a load of laundry. Was this a privately owned rental condo or a timeshare?

Wherever we've stayed in timeshares, the sheets and towels are changed out completely by the resort's housekeepers. Usually, we've seen a guy come around on check-out morning to deliver large plastic bags of fresh linens outside the front doorways of each condo. Then the housekeepers bring the pile of dirty linens outside the door for pick-up. It's very efficient. It would take forever for housekeepers to turn around all those resort rooms if they had to wash the linens individually inside the condos - especially with bedding for many people and small, stacked washer-dryers. Much more cost-efficient to use a centralized laundry room (as Wyndham does) or outsource to a laundry service.

I keep a laundry basket stocked with essentials we need and when it is time to leave we just load it in the car. That way we have it and I don't have to keep buying the same stuff over and over again. This year we are taking 3 trips. Last year we went twice.
