We did a timeshare tour once (in Myrtle Beach) and was told that it would take about 1-1/2 hours and we would get $80. We had no intentions of buying - 3 aunts and 1 uncle have places down there. 3-1/2 hours later we were demanding our money, they had made us feel like dirt poor, white trash, scum of scum people. They showed us they're places in Orlando and I told them that it wasn't as nice as WDW resorts, they put that down. It was extremely HIGH pressure sales and they worked really hard @ humiliating us into buying, We finally got our $80 and have not done that since. DH very relunctantly took the DVC tour for SSR last fall, we did get meal vouchers and ate @ Beaches n'Cream - yum! DH was pleasantly surprised @ how easy that was, our sales guy - Gib, sent us home with the info and said "if you're interested, let me know". We didn't get cash, but a free meal @ WDW is as good as cash. If I were trying to get $$$, I would try a yard sale (or a lot of folks here do e-bay, I'm to chicken), cut back eating out once or twice a month, buy sales items @ the grocery store. Timeshare presentations just aren't worth it for us. Hope this helps.
