We are considering on purchasing a resale with the Timeshare store and can't decide whether or not we should purchase BCV or BWV. The cost is a lot less at BWV. We want to purchase in the Epcot area - would it be better to go with BW??

The advantages of BWV include:
  • Opportunity to book hard-to-get Standard View (lower point requirements) accomodations at 11 months out.
  • Opportunity to book 3-bedroom Grand Villas at 11 months out.
  • Generally better views (including Boardwalk views) than BCV.
The advantages of BCV include:
  • Closer to Epcot International Gateway.
  • Use of Stormalong Bay "mini-waterpark."
Of course, with points from either, you can stay at either -- as long as there's availability at 7 months, or you go on the waitlist and it clears. Book at your home resort at 11 months -- then change, if available, at 7 months.

One other thing to watch for on resales... if one costs less than the other, is it because the current year availability is poor on one? In other words, did the seller already use this year's points (or even borrow and use next year's points)?

We own at both.
If you've got small kids that like the pool, I'd go with BCV for access to SAB. If you've got older kids that will soon enjoy the nightlife (and the slide at Luna Park), I'd go with BWV.
If you don't have any kids to worry about, I'd make the choice on "activity level." The nightlife is better at BWV, but BCV is usually calm and serene.
BWV is more "central" to Epcot and MGM, but BCV is, IMO, closer to Epcot.
I know what I like, but I'm not usually swayed by decor, at least inside the room. They seem about the same to me.
The shower area at BCV has more doors than the shower area at BWV.
There's a "Community House" (my words, probably not the right title) at BWV for owners to play games, get movies, etc. that doesn't exist at BCV.
Parking is much closer at BCV, no need for valet. At BWV, we always use valet just because it's a hike to the parking lot.
I love them both and feel priviliged to have the option to stay at either one. Whatever you decide, you'll be happy.

The points are about $68-$70 at the BW with some points still available this year. The BCV averages around $75-$76 with points this year too. My kids are 9-14-16 and maybe another one some day. Are there quiet villas at the BW or is that area pretty much hopping everywhere?

I guess quiet is in the ears of the beholder..... ;)

As BWV now allows one to request a Boardwalk view, that choice could put you in a position to pick up some noise at night, although we have only experienced that once.

Reserving a preferred, non BW view, or a standard view will be very quiet.

....depending upon your neighbors:teeth:

i disagreed - I found being above the main pool area to be very NOISEY at BWV.

the main pool at BCV is not located at this part of the resort - it is between BC/YC - SALB - the pool at the BCV is a smaller and generally quieter one.

I like BCV because if it is raining and you don't feel like cooking - there is a restuarant that you can get to without getting wet.

now both have room services - so you could go that route.
