Has anyone ever stayed at a timeshare resort to save? I am talking about ones like Sheraton Vistana Villages or Embassy Grand Beach Vacation Resort. The deals offer deep discounts on a room (sometimes 1st night free) such as $59/night or:
3 Days/ 2 Nights Only $149! (Additional Nights Only $75) 1 Bedroom Luxury Villa Plus Your Choice of 2- 1Day Pass at Disney, Universal or Sea World
They all seem like nice places. You just have to agreee to doing the 90min tour of the place. Seems like a good way to get nice accomodations for little $. We have done a tour before for free tickets. We don't mind the hassle.

Just wondering if anyone else has tried this.

:wave2: Hi there! The only reputable company that I know of is Fairfield Resorts. We took advantage of one of those offers 5 years ago to go to the Smoky Mountains. We had a great time, every promise made was kept and we wound up buying!! We are now going to Disneyworld this June and have our accommodations provided through our "timeshare"! It sure saves on the budget! We have a 3 bedroom place with a full kitchen. Whenever we travel, we hit WalMart and buy groceries for a week. We don't need to eat out every meal and we don't get that "too close for comfort" sniping--plenty of room! Check out the company and go for it!

i have stayed at the vistana 2x and it was beautiful. The first time it was not yet a timeshare so it was just like a hotel villas..the 2nd we went for the presentation. If u can spare the 1 1/2 do it. it is not that bad and they r certainly not pushy..just say it sounds great but we r currently exploring our options, we will get back to u if we decide to go with it! if u can do that it is the cheapest (and nicest) way to go!

The resort is a tropical/carribean feel they villas r really nice and huge..many pools, store, spa, your own kitchen and laundry! not tgo far from wdw.

Vistana is reputable..it is a sheraton :sunny:

We exchanged our timeshare into the Embassy Grand Beach last Fall. It's a very nice resort. My oldest son particularly liked it because our 3br unit had two master suites and he got one of them. They offered us a tour, but weren't pushy about it. The staff we dealt with were very nice. I wouldn't hesitate to try their offer.

Thanks for the imput. I am definitely leaning towards this option. It seems like a great way to save $ and still get a great place to stay.

We are staying at the Hilton DTD for $33/night on a timeshare package in December thru Hilton. By doing it this way we can stay at the Poly for 4 nights with the dining plan :cool1:

I've heard Hilton isn't a hard sell so I don't think it will be bad. Besides, I know we won't be buying anyway!!! :teeth:

you may want to do a search before you book anything. We have done Marriott before and would do them again because it was very, very low pressure. Others have said the samething about Marriott. A few of your others have a reputation as being VERY, VERY hard sell. I don't remember which ones, but if you do a search, this has been posted before and you can get some good advise!

Thanks. Would have to agree about the Marriott. We did a tour with them in 04 and it wasn't bad. He took no for an answer pretty well, and we weren't that adamant about it. We know, now, to just give a firm "no."

I have been trying to search. Sheraton seems to be one of the "hard" sells, but I like the location, lol. I want to be relatively close to Disney. I will keep reading up on this option so that we are well-informed. Thanks again!
