How early do they let you into your room?

You should be able to check in when you arrive. I think the computer system resets between 6:30 and 7:30 am. This will give you your resort ID and charging privledges, as well as park tickets (if needed). However, your room may not be available until after 4pm.

sometimes I have check in at 7:30am and the room has been ready.

othertimes I have check in at 7:00am and waited until 4:30pm.

despite what they say - the rooms are not always ready at 4:00pm - they had a lot of trouble with this for a while - but hopefully that is now past.

When we checked into our 1 bedroom at BWV on Jan 12, I called at 4pm and it was not ready. We decided to go out to an early dinner and when we returned at 5pm it was ready [it better be].

We've had both ends of the spectrum - 8AM and 4PM - and everything in between. We always check in as early as possible in case something is available. If not, we head to the parks, go swim or get something to eat.

In 14 years of DVC membership and trips, we only got into the room after 4 one time, back in 2000. It was during a busy season,{which we don't normally do} and we did not get in until 4:20. The majority, I would say 95% of the time, we get our room by 11:30, 12 at the latest.. And about half of that time, we had access to the room by 9:30.
