Hey Everyone

My family is planning a trip to DW in April. Our flight lands at 4:29 p.m. We are taking the DW Airport Shuttle to our hotels. I really want to go to Midevil Times, 6:00 p.m. showing. Do you think I can manage this? Is two hours enough time to unboard, meet/take shuttle to hotel, check in and Uber over in time for that 6 p.m. show?

No way in Hades. As mentioned, the expected time from gate to resort using DME is 90 minutes. So *IF* you're walking off the plane at 4:30, you're not getting to your resort until 6p.
Even IF the plane is super early (say you walk off at 4p), you get to the resort at 5:30. It's a 15 minute ride to Medieval times. Doesn't leave a lot of slop.
You'd have to have the plane arrive super early, AND be fortunate on DME so the trip only takes 70 minutes to have a chance of this working out.

If you really want to do this, the best bet is to have private transportation from the airport to the resort, drop your luggage with baggage services, and have the private transportation take you to MT. Even with that, if there is a flight delay, you could run into problems.

OR, rent a car for one night and you can go from MCO to MT. That's still cutting it close unless the plane arrives early.

Based on the timings you listed, you would only have 1.5 hours, not 2 hours. 2 hours I would give a VERY slim chance of making it. 1.5 hours, I would agree with pretty much everyone else that you won't be able to make it.

We never schedule anything that is not refundable for arrival day. You never know what will go wrong - mechanical delays, weather delays, etc. I'd recommend doing Medieval Times another day.

Drive time alone from MCO to WDW resorts is 30 minutes and it is about 15-20 minutes from most WDW Resorts to Medieval Times. This makes it seem like you would have time to spare, but there is a lot non driving time you need to account for in getting from place to place.

Just to give examples of steps/time based on my shortest and longest trips on DME. I have been lucky with my trips being between 70 minutes and 100 minutes, I rounded by the 5 minute mark. Although the 70 minutes from landing to resort is almost exact, I just rounded the stops. The 100 minute might have been just under. This time is just from the plane opening the doors for debarkation to stepping foot off the bus to the resort.

Shortest - Landed MCO 9:00 am on a Sunday with 70 minutes
  • 20 minutes: debarked middle of the pack of people getting off the plane, bathroom break, tram to concourse, walk to DME buses
  • 10 minutes: checking in, getting on the bus, bus taking off (luckily I was the last on before leaving)
  • 30 minutes: drive from MCO to All Star Sports
  • 10 minutes: Amount of time from Sports to Music to Movies (luckily only 2-3 groups at each stop got off before Movies and had little under the bus)
  • I was the first off at Movies and my bag was one of the first pulled from under the bus.

Longest - Landed MCO 7:00 pm on a Friday with 100 minutes
  • 30 minutes: debarked from plane in the first 1/4 of people on the plane, tram to concourse, bathroom break, walk to DME buses (LOTS OF PEOPLE - Hard to get around!)
  • 25 minutes: checking in, getting on the bus, bus taking off (Full bus with 2 large groups put on a to fill bus after I arrived with quite a few items to go under the bus.)
  • 40 minutes: drive from MCO to AoA
  • 5 minutes: I was one of the last off the bus just so because I was solo and the families getting off could keep together.
  • By the time I got off, my bag had been placed to the side so I could grab it and go.
Please note that I am usually in and out of the bathroom in about 2-4 minutes. I usually pick one that does not have a large number of people streaming in from a recently landed plane. This is either one closer to the tram before going to the concourse or just after arriving at the concourse. So, just deciding to avoid a restroom break would not save much time. Now, I normally land at gates along Side A and DME is in Side B so that does add to my time. If by chance you arrive on Side B, it might save about 5-10 minutes.

The only way you'd save time depending on the side you "land" on would be if you need to get your checked luggage. If you can go straight to DME, it doesn't matter what side.

It's possible but unlikely, especially now that social distancing will be slowing down bus loading at MCO.

What information do you have for THE bus loading at MCO? Please look for a thread on this forum asking exactly that, and advise the poster!

Also viewing another post you have on disability board you have mobility issues. That will probably add even more time being added to getting off plane, down to ME, etc.

Not worth the stress or risk of missing. By trip time your arrival time might change to as flights are changing constantly!

Enjoy your trip! 😀
