OK now im pulling my hair out:scared1: Ok I think Im ready to take the plunge :yay: BUUUUTTTT a week ago I booked a week through disney at the Beach Club villas for MAy 22-29 and put a deposit down. Now I found a contract with a December use year which according to my DVC guru freinds would be a good use year for us since we travel in may and june plus there are 300 points available right now. OK 1st question would disney let me out of my booking and would I just lose my deposit? 2nd question, and if i was approved for the contract is there enough time to get a room through DVC for last week in MAy? HELP !!!

Yes, Disney will let you out of the reservation and return your deposit if you are still beyond the 45 day mark (if it is a pacakge). You are...of course, if you purchased travel insurance, then you will not get refunded that fee so it would be deducted from your deposit and you would be refunded the difference. If it was a room only reservation, then everything will be refunded back since the cancellation deadline for those is a lot closer to the travel dates than with a package.

As far as a DVC reservation, that may be tricky as far as whether there will availability for your dates at BCV once you have closed. It has been taking about 1 month or so for the resale process (mine took 28 days). That puts you at the end of March before you can make a reservation for late May.

I do not own at BCV so I don't know whether that time of year is a popular time or not. If you are flexible in where you will stay, there is a much better chance, 60 days out, to get a reservation somewhere. But at this late date, and the type of room you would be looking for, there may not be rooms available.

It sounds like you booked via CRO? If so you can cancel up to either 45 or 7 days prior to your vacation depending on if you booked a package or not. So yes, Disney would give you your deposit back

On your second question.. a lot depends. I seem to recall it takes around 6 weeks for a resale so that puts you in the end of March IF everything goes well.... Probably more like sometime in April? So, BCV strikes me as very unlikely. MAYBE OKW or SSR but once again it depends. What size unit? That's a holiday week... it's going to be tougher!

1 bedroom villa May but with that contract it would be a Sun through Thursday.

if you're willing to take a 1BR anywhere (probably SSR or OKW, as already stated), then you've got a chance. (BCV has fewer rooms and will probably be booked solid well before you are in the system.)

timeshares aren't designed to work well for short notice trips, though, so you'd definitely be taking a risk...good luck.
