Okay, off topic and probably really annoying, and I thought maybe you would care because this is a disney forum...

Im going to disney!!

I don't know how to do a PTR because Ive never done that before, and if there is a guide anywhere then I would love to know :rotfl2: .

I couldn't believe it when my mom said "look i know its kind of short notice, but I needed to run this by you first. We need to see family, and ---" (immediately my mind screamed "DISNEY WORLD") "since you're a disney fanatic and all..we were thinking we could do the whole disney thing WITH our family, is that alright?" (of course Im screaming YESSS DO ITTT)

So thats pretty much how I found out.
I would love to know what to do there, if there's any reservations for a good restaurant or something there, or what souvenirs I should get that will last a long time in my heart. (im thinking ears maybe? but when I was in DL my parents convinced me it was a waste of money.).

We will not be staying at any of the resorts we will be staying with family.

Thanks in advance..

Mouse!:hyper:

Ooh, you should get ears. You can get your name stitched into them, I got mine done when my parents went a few months ago. Mine is red and solid because that's what my mother picked out. But they have other kinds, like this pink one I saw a lot, it's really thin stitching. I think in the end with the stitching, they're like 13 bucks. Normal ears are 9.99 (I just took the tag off my ears today).

Mine look like this.

I can't exactly reccommend restaurants because I've only been to two that weren't just chicken fingers and fries. (Kona Kafe and O'Hanas, both were good).

Do you know when you're going? The good restaurants book fast. You can book up to 180 days in advance for most of them. And you might need those days if you really want a particular restaurant. We've been looking for Le Cellier dinner since the beginning of May (for end of August-early September) and still can't find one. We got a lunch reservation there though..
As for souvenirs, I like getting magnets and school stationary like pens.
We also get lots of plushies and t-shirts. My favorite t-shirt is from WDW. It's my red Pirate one I got at the VMK store (now turned art gallery :worried:).

Congrats! :goodvibes
Defintely eat at Cosmic Rays Starlight Cafe! It's so yummy, and such a great atmosphere.
Pins could defintely help capture the memory of something.
But it depends on what you like or collect.
Pressed pennies is something fun you could collect that will capture the memory of a ride or attraction.
(:

Restaurants-I only do counter-service so I can't help you with sit-downs. So for CS I would say:
MK-Cosmic Rays, and Columbia Harbour House
EPCOT-Electric Umbrella, Liberty Inn, Sommerfest (in Germany), and Sunshine Season Food Fair (in the Land)
Hollywood Studios (aka MGM)-ABC Commisary, and Pizza Planet
Animal Kingdom- Yak and Yeti(NEW but has chinese food), and Tusker House Restaurant

Souveniers-
Mickey Ears with name on it(try and find Special Editions, like when they had gold ears for the 50th)
Pins(I just started collecting them so my little brother(3) and I can start pin trading)
Pressed Pennies( my sister collects them, and Character Autograph Books(its a lot easier if you have a little kid to go with you to sign it, if you get easily embarrased)

Congrats thats wonderful news I've known you have wanted to go for quite a while.

Some places I like to eat are the Brown Derby(Disneys Hollywood Studios), Bomas(Animal Kingdom Lodge,Coral Reef(Epcot)

For souvineers last year I got a purse, a Animal Kingdom Lodge t-shirt, and some candy. If you have never got the ears I highly recommend getting some. I got mine when I was 3 and just realized a few moment ago when I got them out of the closet they had choclate on them. Penny Presses are always cheep and fun too :).

EAT AT CHEF MICKEYS AND RIDE ALL OF THE RIDES!
Trust me :)

The best tickers are at www.************** :)

Well for dining tips go here: http://allears.net/din/dining.htm and on the left there are menus for all the restaurants.

souvenirs: Ears or a shirt or a stuffed animal. I also LOVE their jewerly at Summer Sands (Downtown Disney). Just basicly get whatever you like. :) World of Disney at DTD and the Emporium at MK have a lot to choose from.

Rides: Ride everything!

I would read dining and trip reports if you are someone who likes to plan ahead. ::yes::

Have fun!

Chef Mickey's was REALLY good and it had a variety of food because it was a buffet.
Crystal Palace was great with character interaction, and the food was good.
Ohana was okay.
I didn't like it much because it was breakfast and I'm not real big on breakfast, but it was pretty good, I suppose.
Le Cellier was GREAT. My new favorite resturant.
The princess breakfast in Nornay at Epcot was good. Princesses are always really fun.
1900 Park Faire was fun. The stepsisters were a riot.

We also ate at Tusker House and Hollywood and Vine, which were both pretty good.

Have a great trip!!!

First of all, Tusker House isn't only breakfast. Secondly, different people have different opinions.

Mouse, that's greattttt! I know how much you wanted to go! My favorite sitdown restaurants are Le Cellier (Epcot), Raglan Road (DTD) and Kona Cafe (Polynesian.)

How many days are you gonna be there? When?

Well.
I just found out that we can pull strings because a member of my family's best friend works (I dont know where or anything) at disney, and possibly get in for a NICE discount or possibly free :D *dances with Minnie doll*

Im really excited.
Oh gosh, its almost a month a way and im already acting like a 4 year old over this!

Plus, Ive wanted to see my family for a long time, and it will be great to finally have that magical family experience at WDW!

Theres so many wonderful aspects of this trip, Ive almost started packing xD

I need to start doing extra chores if I wanna have spending money!

*shivers*

Thanks for the tips! I somehow knew you would have something to say.

:D

Quick question :

My cousin, is obsessed with HM (no..not haunted mansion like me, but hannah...yeah..ew) and I dont know how to act with her around.
Im her greatest role model, and I dont want her to see me go "ahhh its hannah montana" because I remember how crushed my dreams were when my older cousin turned their nose up at spice girls. (i STILL love them xD).

We will probably only be there for 1 long day, and it probably won't include my entire family, but the disney lovers. (I didnt even know that existed *blushes*).

Plus, when if Im with someone I enjoy hanging out with, I will be more willing to go on what I like to call "dangerous rides" (AKA : Heights)

Sorry Im kinda...just rambling on here, but theres so much to say on my mind right now!

Also, maybe it would be good to not plan anything out, and just "wing it!", to see what happens.

Goodness :faint: im a wreck!! xD

my favorite place to eat is 1900 park fair for brunch.
also, the resturant at AKL is awesome.

Also, maybe it would be good to not plan anything out, and just "wing it!", to see what happens.

I don't think it would be good to wing it with reservations. When I was at WDW like a week ago, hardly any sit-down restaurants took walk-ins (Thank goodness we had reservations xD). The people at Le Cellier said most people booked 6 months in advance, but I didn't even know you could book that far in advance. :confused3

But I do think it would be good to wing it with the rides and stuff like that. Because if you plan everything out, you will end up disappointed if things don't go that way.

Thats what my family does. The only thing we plan is which way we are starting (like start at Adventurland and make are way around to Tomorrowland, and vice-versa)

Ooohhh Mouse!!

I can totally help you with a PTR!!

*hinthint...look in my siggie for mine...**

ADR ideas there, and some of my favorite things.

But really, I'm happy to help :)

Really, though, just go to the TR Boards

Click on the subdivison "Pre Trip Reports" at the top of the page.

Start new thread!

And dat is it.

(And hopefully, people will read it!)

well...if i was going i'd go on all the rides i could think of...and i would buy a cool sweatshirts(since i loveee sweatshirts) and probably a cool hat bc i love hats too! lol have a great time!!!

Okay.
Im upset.
Some threads I will never be allowed to see, and I dont know why or how my computer does this, normally I just take it as it is, but my PTR is one of them.

What do I do?
