I get to make my dinner reservations for my family of 8 on june 8th and i am soo excited. There are 7 adults and 1 child so of course none of the adults want anything really planned out they want to get there and do whatever they want. Which i understand but i also understand if i dont make dinner reservations i might not get to go. We are going to 2 character meals which i am def making reservations for but what about the rest of the resturants we want to check out. Should i be making reservations for alot more or not? I really want to go to the resturant in epcot that is like an aquarium (cant think of the name right now) and scifi dine in and the big river grille and brewing company. There is a few more but because everyone pretty much just wants to do whatever when we get there i dont know what to do. Any advice?

If you want to dine at Coral Reef or Sci Fi it's best to have a reservation. You don't need one for Big River usually.

If you're going during a busy time of year (like near Christmas) you'll want reservations for every meal really.

I find dining in the world a lot different now than how it was in 2005. With the dining plan a lot more people are choosing to eat at table service restaurants. Do you think you'll be eating with all 8 of you when you dine? Would you be disappointed if you were not able to eat at a selected restaurant? Do you like to dine at specified times? Are you going during the peak season or over a holiday? If so, I'd recommend making reservations. Disney can seat parties of 2 and 4 quite easily but there are only so many tables that can seat 8. A few of the restaurants you'll find your seated at two tables side by side. One thing to keep in mind you can always make reservations now and if you find you won't need them cancel them later on but at least you'll have something.

Have fun! Karen

call right now for your ps/s or you may be too late to book for june. coral reef in ecpot is one that you spoke of. big bend needs no ps's and it is nice to eat outside. sci fi is not one of my favorites food is overprice and horrible hope you like it better.

Unless I misunderstood...I think the OP can make her 180's on June 8th...not trying to book her reservations FOR June 8th. :)
If I am thinking clearly that would mean you will be there early Dec?:confused3 . I think that is sort of a slow time but I would still make some reservations for the meal you know you want to do just to be safe. It may seem like a good idea to do whatever you want when you get there...but I would hate to see anyone in your party dissapointed if you couldn't get in somewhere..Maybe the adults who will be going could check out all the menus at Allearsnet.com and pick one or two 'must-do' places and you could make your ADR's for those? Happy Planning! :goodvibes

thanks everyone for your response. Yes we are going dec 6th which i heard is pretty slow. I guess i will send out an email an make sure there isnt any must haves and if there is i will book them and if not we will see once we get there. I know my must haves are chef mickeys and crystal palace for characters for my son. Thanks again
