Someone on Reddit posted that Friday the time to get a new FP was extended to at least 30 minutes. So, even if you pulled an instant FP you couldn't get a new one until 30 min later, not right away. Is anyone at the parks and can confirm this?

Yes, they seemed to catch on that getting 30 FPs in a day was not a good thing. I went through my FPs from yesterday and if it was immediate or close, it did show a 30 minute hold until we could get the next one.

What if you pull an instant fastpass and get on the ride right away and have completed it before the 30 minutes expire?

Or, do you mean by "extended" that the earliest time to return to use it is 30 minutes after it is pulled?

I saw this last night. The 30 minute window to get your next fp is only if you don't use the instant fp before grabbing your next FP. At 8:13 last night I grabbed a Buzz fp that was for 8:15 and it said I could get my next FP at 8:43. I rode buzz right after getting the fp and then walked over to HM and while on my way there I decided to grab one at BTMRR at 8:39 which was before the 30 minutes were up and it let me since I had used the Buzz fp already. I did not check getting a different fp after getting the Buzz before using it.

You can't get another Fastpast until a minimum of 30 minutes after pulling any fastpass.
I pulled TSMM at 9:00 am. It was valid starting at 9:05. I couldn't pull another until 9:30 (30 minutes after I pulled it). "Another Fastpass selection will be available after 9:30 am"
I pulled Star Tours at 3:25 and it was valid starting at 3:30. "Another Fastpass selection will be available after 3:55 pm"

I don't know when this started but it wasn't in effect two weeks ago.
Hope that helped calrify!

It appears to have started yesterday. But the 30 minutes becomes null if you use the fp you pulled before getting your next one.

This was our experience yesterday. It caught me by surprise. I now have to pay attention to the fp reminder card to see when I can get a new fp.

Even the CM either didn't know about it or couldn't explain it. They said they were told to tell guests they need to wait 2 hours before they could get another fp. They never mentioned the 30 minute wait. They told me it was a computer glitch and that I got lucky that I wasn't waiting two hours. i knew better but it seems like even CM's aren't being given clear info to give to guests to explain the system.

If you use your FastPass within that 30min window you may pull another FastPass immediately after scanning into one of the touch points.

From my visit yesterday, Toy Story Mania was an "instant" Fastpass attraction all day.

Rode it 3 times in a row using FastPass within a 40 min window.
