.... hanging my head in shame..... had to take 2000 out of my emergency savings to pay off credit cards this month.....

I can't really blame my disney vacation this month cause all but about $ 500 was paid for .... the rest was me not feeling well ( perimenapause... anxiety issues) and coping with it by ordering out instead of cooking.... not using a darn coupon for any food shopping this month... spending over $250 for costumes for daughters theater production..... buying stuff I thought I needed to get me thru my funk...... etc etc etc....

so know after paying everything off,,, yes I am thankful that I have the money to pay it off... but kicking myself in the behind for letting myself get so off budget....

I understand. I had to take out $800 to pay credit card bills. At least we know our mistakes and hopefully we'll get back on track!

Don't beat yourself up - it happens to all of us. This time of year is awful for me. I start buying Christmas presents, which gets me back in the mode of shopping, and suddenly I'm buying things for myself that I don't really need but "just can't pass up". Let's see - in the last week there's been a ton of makeup (when all I really needed was some new base), a heated mattress pad for my daughter, and then there was that Nook "deal" which led me to also buy a cover, light and some books! :scared1:

Just get back on the horse and you'll be fine :thumbsup2

Honey, no jury of your peers going thru peri menopause or full blown menopause will find you guilty. I never understood women complaining about it. Fast forward and now due to surg, I am in it, I swear, I don't even know who I am anymore.

Hang in there, hopefully it will get better.

I am going to have to take money out of savings this month too. Oct & Nov have been really crazy busy at work, so I stopped logging all my purchases on my budget spreadsheet. When I stop keeping close track, I always end up overspending.

Add to that the fact that DD is getting taller by the minute so clothes we *thought* would fit her through the season are already getting too short. It's next to impossible to find pants that fit the poor kid; if they fit her in the waist they are too short, if they are long enough they fall off of her. So we need the ones with an adjustable waist, which the less expensive brands don't seem to make in toddler sizes.

December I am getting back on the wagon. I have money set aside for holiday shopping and I am not going over that budget!

Well, don't beat yourself up. We had some big unexpected expenses as well. Car needed work, vacation cost more than planned, and now Christmas has snuck up on us.

When all is said and done it will be around $2,000 too. We did get a bonus and that will cover most of it, but we will need some of our emergency fund as well.

Dawn

thanks....I never understood either until i woke up in the middle of it either.....I totally relate to the not knowing who I am anymore..... and the feeling crappy all the time really leaves me with little energy or drive to budget, food shop ,plan meals etc..... but I think I wallowed in it enough and really need to get act together....

Thats me too. I was shocked that the peri-meno stuff was happening as I only recently just turned 40 :scared1:
(okay not *that* recent lol) I thought I was either coming down with something as I didn't (don't) know who I am anymore either.:scared1:

So take care and be easy on yourself. This too will pass (I hope I hope!!)

Try Old Navy. At least a year or two ago, their boys' toddler pants were adjustable. BTDT.
