Calling all Disboard members. The time has come for all of us to start calling, emailing, or just talking to the management of WDW. The rules are not being enforced. Smoking is increasing in every park, heely's are starting to show up more and more. Parents are allowing their children to urinate in the plants, litter is everywhere. People are just plan rude. The magic of going to Disney is starting to loose its luster. The CM's are not eforcing the rules, they are looking the other way. Does anyone else agree/disagree? Tell us your stories. Lets hear it Dis'ers. :furious:

The only thing I have noticed was the smoking. That being said, I hate to be a tattle-tale but the only way to get something enforced is to complain about it. So I say, go ahead and write a letter. Send one by e-mail and another by snail mail.

Unfortunately rude people are everywhere. It doesn't matter if you are in WDW or not - they'll still be there.

The smoking is ridiculous. Something needs to be done about that. The heelys are just dumb. Who lets their kid run around on them in a crowded theme park?

I don't believe the general "magic" of Disney is disappating, I believe people are just becoming bigger and louder morons. Not sure what Disney can do about that?

Example (and my only real complaint): We saw tons of kids wearing those shoes with the wheels in the heels last week -- wheeling through lines, down Main Street, cutting across in front of people, speeding down the wheelchair ramp from The Land in Epcot -- with parents smiling at how cute their spoiled little brats were.

Aren't those things banned at WDW?

With all of the threads about everything at WDW going downhill, I feel like the only person on earth who doesn't notice that stuff. :lmao:

I am with you!

The last time I was there, I had to deal with a LOT of people smoking in ride queues (if they were outdoors/open to the outdoors). I can't breathe around cigarette smoke, and I distinctly remember having a very hard time in the queues for Peter Pan and the HM. More than one person in each line was doing it. And not one CM said anything.

Nah, you're not the only one. I guess I'm too focused on my own vacation to pay much attention to other people. :confused3

I notice it (I don't think it's quite as bad as some claim) but I sure don't let it ruin my trip! I treat everyone as I would like to be treated myself and I hope for the best. It must be working because I really have never had a noteworthy horrible experience at WDW.

LOL...me too! I guess I am too concerned with my own vacation to worry about those things. Let's just say I am "blinded by the magic". :teeth:

i've enver noticed it before, but mainly b/c i'm a daydreamer and when not daydreaming i'm chatting away!!!! but if someone were smoking near me in line that would be annoying, and i would say something.

I didn't notice hardly anyone breaking the rules and I really thought that you were going to have a :rotfl: at the end of your post. I occasionally see someone smoking outside a smoking area and a couple times I saw someone wearing Heelys, but I saw someone speeding towards me in Heelys at Target a couple weeks ago, too. I wanted to stick my foot out and trip him, but he was going too fast. ;)

I've never seen anyone peeing on the plants and I don't see much litter. What I see are people peeing in the potties (some may not wash their hands, but that's hardly worth an e-mail blitz) and CMs walking around with the little brooms and dustpans sweeping up litter. The parks seem fairly clean to me.

Yeah, there is some rudeness, but again, I see it just as often at home (more often, actually). Most people are having a great time and I don't let the few sourpusses ruin my trip. And on each of my last two trips I have run into a sourpuss. But it's given me a good story to retell and I now laugh at those stories. Most of my stories have given me wonderful memories and those are the ones that I'm going to remember with fondness. If I notice an ongoing problem (or someone smoking in line) I will speak up. In general, though, I'm going to be a "glass is half full" kind of person.

I can block out most of it, but the smoking does get to me because it bothers my asthma.

I don't believe the general "magic" of Disney is disappating, I believe people are just becoming bigger and louder morons.

Ok, I normally dont get in on these but here it goes.Yes I agree that there are some people out there who are rude. Now as for being a smoker myself and going to Disney for the first time last year I didnt know that there were smoking areas in the park.It only took one CM to kindly explain this to me and for the rest of my trip I made sure I knew where the areas were for the park I was going to that day.I have no problem with this at all,but the only problem I do have is when others get rude with me about the situation.
As for heelys,I personally hate them ,but dont you think there are bigger things to worry about then that.I could say the same thing about the strollers all around the park and how many times I was hit in the ankles or had my toes run over by them.Parents really need to keep an eye on their children at all times. Were all there for the same reason to enjoy the Magic unforunately afew apples spoil the bunch.
Nothing against anyone this is only my opinion.

I am too busy enjoying my vacation to notice all these things I guess. The only thing that would bother me is the smoking and I think I have only encountered that at the parks once or twice in multiple visits to the parks. When I have noticed that I have spoken up right then and there and not waited until I got home because I would rather have it taken care of immediately as smoke bothers me also.

I was just at DL and I didn't notice any smoking or Heelys in the park. I didn't notice some Heelys in DTD at the Lego store.....had a big urge to trip the kids....but managed to restrain myself.

I'm with you. I did notice lots of kids with Heely's though it didn't bother me at all :confused3

The only rude behavior that I noticed AND bothered me this last trip was how people talk all the time! during shows, during announcements on rides the list goes on! Disney's answer seems to be to turn everything up as loud as possible instead of dealing with it. I even had a woman think she was going to yack on her cell phone while on Soarin! luckily a dirty look convinced her to hang up.
