I have a problem I totally love the dress I wore for my first wedding and I still have it. I only paid 1400.00 for a 5000 dress and I am really tempted to try something. Tell me if you think that this would be ok or if it would be a little weird.

The dress is a three piece. The one with the corsett top that laces up the back, the skirt, and the tails. I was wondering if I could use the same bottom but have it altered with a different corsett top. It is only a dress, not my heart so I don't think borrowing a little material should make a big stink.

Also, it would save us a ton of money that we could spend on the honeymoon. What do you think HONESTLY??

I would totally NOT wear the same dress. I would feel very incomfortable starting a life with someone "new" wearing a dress a wore for my first wedding. My fiancee was married before and I am trying to make the wedding as different as possible. I just think it would be weird. It's up to you though...good luck!

How does your df feel about it? I know mine would be extremely upset, but if your's is ok w/ it what does it matter what anyone else think.

I agree with the above posts. If df is okay with it, go for it.

Are you going to buy another top to go with the skirt? What fabric is the skirt? I know that Alfred Angelo, Bridal Originals and (I think) even Jasmine make pieces you can buy seperately.

Do you have 2 tails down the back or one train? To add another twist, you could take the tails and have them made into a shawl that, if you didn't want to wear down the aisle, you could put on for a couple pictures for a different look. Or, some brides decorate them and use them as table runners on the head table at the reception.
