Have a 310 pm flight. Dont want to sit at airport forever. Do you think our private ride from beach club at 1pm is too late?

I know we wouldn't wait that late for a flight at MCO. It can get crazy there. But it depends - do you have premier access of some type for check-in, do you have TSA-pre (or something similar), are you checking bags? If you're going through a pretty standard check-in, bag check, and security check, we'd want to be there at least 2 hours before the flight. You're looking at about 30 minutes from BC.

Definitely too late. MCO is a very, very busy airport. I would get there at least 2 hours prior to your flight. Security lines, if you don’t have PreCheck, can be up to an hour.

we have pre check and flying 1st class but yes checking a bag.

With Pre, as long as you have priority check in with your airline or curbside baggage drop I would say you could do it. You leave BC at 1, puts you at MCO at say 1:40, twenty minutes to drop bags and clear TSA, 10 more minutes to get to your gate would be 2:10. Still gives you thirty minutes until boarding starts. Personally I would not, but I'm very risk averse when it comes to making my flight.

Its advised that you arrive at the airport 2 hours prior.
This is true especially at MCO.
I would leave by 12:15pm to arrive by about 1pm.
What's so wrong with cooling your heels at the gate for a little while?
Certainly better than worrying about missing the flight.

It's advised for the general traveler to arrive two hours prior. That recommendation is largely based on how long it takes to get through the general security line, especially at MCO with it's relatively large number of infrequent travelers. Seasoned travelers that know where they are going, what they are doing and have Pre can get by in much less time than that. It's never taken me more than 10 minutes to get through security with Pre at MCO. Compared to posted wait times of 40-50 minutes for general security lines.

In the age of Covid, cooling heels at the gate gives me more time to catch something from our fellow travelers.

We have TSA precheck and leave the beach club at the same time you suggested. It's never been an issue.

Your plan sounds good to me. We leave in 3 days for beach club!!

We aim to get to the airport 1hr before boarding and work backwards from there, if it’s a 3:10 flight assuming you’ll begin boarding a little after 2:30, 1pm pickup is totally fine. TSA pre never takes that long. Also since you’re flying first class and checking bags it’s not like you have to board first to fight for your overhead space ;) Happy trails!

My one tip is if you’re going to the parks in the AM that’s where you should use an abundance of caution to make sure you can get back to your resort with enough time to collect your bags and meet your driver. I’ve cut it uncomfortably close trying to leave the park XD

Agreed, there is that fine line between spending too much time at a crowded gate and the anxiety over potentially missing your flight. We make sure we're at the airport with plenty of time, find an open gate with no flight to spread out sitting, and then work to our own gate a few minutes before they're supposed to board. In the back of my mind is always that potential traffic jam on I4, or construction on 417, or an accident on the Bee-Line (whichever way your driver prefers) that just messes up the entire timeline. Hope you have smooth and safe travels!

I would recommend leaving BC no later than 12:30pm, you should arrive at the airport AT LEAST two hours prior to your flight, especially at MCO.. MCO gets extremely busy on holiday weekends, I would not risk it..

have fun!!!!!!!! we are only there for 1 night (hence wanting to maximize our only 2 days in the park after a 2 year absence!!)
